You've never driven a hybrid, have no ide what components are involved, yet you already know it's not good. LOL. Stay in the 90's bro - most of us want better performance and technology.

Well it’s not really fair to compare a tent roofed jeep with halogens and cloth seats to a fully loaded Tacoma. Equally equipped the gap is huge

It is the same as a gasser vs. diesel in the 3/4-1 tonners. Oil burner has less payload, since the engine is a heavy sumbitch.

Modern diesels are typically more of an expensive pain in the ass too when it comes time to fix them.

I’ll stick with my “90’s” technology. Good luck.

Also, isn’t your truck older than mine:confused:

It’s not that I don’t like change. It’s that I don’t like unnecessary technology. The best thing that Tacomas has had going for them since their existence is longevity and reliability. Toyota will kill that with turbo hybrids. Instead of trucks that run to 300K miles they’ll end up in the junkyard at $150K because people won’t want to spend $5K on a new hybrid battery and more on a turbo replacement. Meanwhile the other manufacturers are getting better performance and better fuel mileage out of standard engines.

You can't even make statements like this because you don't know anything about the truck. That's why I can't handle all of the complaints about the truck that isn't even out yet . The battery should last 10 years fyi and by then toyota should have a solution.
And wouldn't people just trade it in then the dealership would pay for the battery and then re sell it?

What? The solution is replacing the batteries. The same as the other hybrids that Toyota had been making for 25 years. Also, Do you think the dealership has endless money floating around? They aren’t going to spend thousands repairing an old truck to resell. They are going to give you shit for trade in value and then it’s going to auction.

Both my tacos have been 4 bangers. And I have a 2.0L Macan. 4 cylinder engines are okay.

Oh man. Once you live with auto head lights you’ll hate manual ones.

I drove my dads river for a bit while my truck was taken apart. It had auto lights, auto wipers, everything. It was so nice.

I switched the headlights to auto the 1st day I bought the truck, and almost 6 years later don't think ever touched it since.

Not like the Tacoma is some advanced car but it has spoiled me so bad.

Driving my wife’s golf. Walk up to it…why the hell aren’t the doors unlocking. Oh yeah gotta press unlock. Why aren’t the headlights on. Oh gotta turn those on. How the hell do I back up without a camera. Oh yeah gotta crank my head around like a caveman.

We get Prius models in the shop with over 300K dude and they are still rockin'. This is PROVEN technology bro. Also, rebuild HYBRID batteries start around $750. Stop talking dude - you seriously have no idea what you are talking about.
