Does throttle position have any effect on the mph?

I haven’t driven in anything but manual mode for the last few years. I wonder if/where my tune moved that shift point.

No, not that I have experienced. You can go 57mph on flat or up a hill and you stay in 4th. As soon as you go over 58mph and let off the throttle it will shift. You can then go below 58 and stay in 5th. It's kinda neat as it is repeatable as hell.

I can imagine. Finding repeatable stuff like that is fun. Once my truck is back together I’ll give it a try. I have long boring commute so it’ll be something to do.

I knew none of us Tacoma bros would get that deep and philosophical over the number 58 and association to Tacoma transmissions especially on a Friday night.

I turn 58 this year so I was thought you were talking about me. Sometimes I think I may be a bit self centered.

    Lol sure.
Just yesterday, we finally got to prototype phase on a project we started in 2017. Why? People change, priorities change, COVID. I am the only original team member from our side. Our customer has zero people left that was on the original team. So 58 seconds? Six years? Lol.
