How about the cost of labor to install that $750 battery?

How about the cost and labor of an automatic transmission replacement? Hybrid models no longer use pressurized transmission systems. The "transmission" of a RAV4 hybrid only contains 1 planetary gear set and a few other gears. Nothing else. No bands, no valve body, etc. The simplicity of the transmission is remarkable. Should last the lifetime of the vehicle. But keep your rant going, it's pretty hilarious.

You’re deflecting. What’s the cost of a Prius battery replacement including labor? It’s not exactly a DIY project.
Also are there many transmission replacements required with Tacomas? If there are I’m not hearing about it.

Toyota require transmission replacements time to time, yes. You've never worked in a Toyota Dealership so once again, how can you even talk about this stuff? Hybrid batteries require replacement time to time also, but cost less than a transmission replacement.

    What’s the cost then?
    Google says this:
The average cost of replacing a Prius hybrid battery ranges from $2,000 and $4,500. Even if you opt for a used battery, you might still spend about $1,500. Add this to installation costs, additional fees from the mechanic, and repair expenses, and you will be looking at a much higher bill.

Also, batteries are always going to wear/age out, Transmissions aren’t.

You need to look at maintenance cost over the life time vs An ICE vehicle. And no I don't know the cost but I'm sure someone does .

I think the batteries last a long ass time. All the taxis around here are Prius’ with half a million KM. The taxi companies pick the lowest cost to operate machine (fuel, maintenance and repairs) for obvious reason and every taxi sedan I’ve seen is a Prius.

My guess would be maintenance cost between a Hybrid and regular ICE would be pretty similar outside of the battery pack.

When a truck has a two battery system. The cost to replace the batteries is double.

I used to see some Prius cabs, I still see them but they have been retired from cab duty.

No idea if the Camry cabs I see are Hydrid or not. The most common cab vehicle I see are pre owned ICE sedans Camry, Impala, Malibu, Versa, Caravan. ICE vehicles coming off auction are still way less expensive to purchase and maintain than any other vehicle.

I like seeing the Cab company dragging their brokedown cabs back to the shop with a tow strap and another cab.

But a hybrid is still an ICE vehicle and requires all the ice vehicle maintenance. We aren’t talking full EV here.

With the exception of Nissan for now, all midsize trucks will have turbos. Things will get interesting.

Are all the fullsize GM 2.7 trucks rated for the same horse power and torque?

If you know so much then why don’t you just tell us how much a Prius battery replacement is at your dealership. Stop stalling.

Google is pretty effing amazing. You guys should try it sometime. :D

“Toyota says a Prius battery will last between 100,000-150,000 miles or between 8-10 years. However, there are owners that have eked out far more mileage, as well as others who’ve reported fewer.”

I'm more worried how long it takes before you need to replace it the how much. If it takes 10 years all the Gas you save can pay for it

    See post above.
It depends on how much more the hybrid costs up front and how many mpgs you actually gain. It doesn’t would like it will be much gain except for maybe around town.
