I've found as many differing opinions on how 2 bars should be installed as there are pages on the internet. Good grief.

4/0 AL. Any circuit past the first main, neutral and ground must be separated.

[IMG] One reason I like Square D Homeline, neutral bus runs entire length down both sides of interior. This model is a 40/80 200 amp. The way to go....

What was the 4/0 about? Am I misreading my supply or is it not rated for 200AMP?

Working on a GE Cafe dishwasher the past two days. It is going into CSM mode and tripping.

I found a leak in a hose dripping in wire harness. Waiting for part but don't see how ti remove and attach new part. Schematics show 2 clamps and I only see 1 one mine. Looks like the hose on one side goes into then pump inlet rather than over. Anyone repair one of these before? Part 311 in schematics.

i looked at my old pump and the new pump on ge website (old pump reference pic attached). i guess when i remove and install the dishwasher i will hope to find the hose on pump side goes into a grove/slot or something. i thought i can just change hose in place.

fair warning, this one's gonna be a mess.

i looked it over so i could make sure it wasn't going to fall on me!

it was mounted solid to the wall everywhere, i think the soffit above is crooked, but instead of shaving the upper edges or adjusting all the cabinets, they just went with it...

it's an electrical service using Service Entrance(SE) cable. from any meter to the first disconnect, the neutral and ground can be combined. this is the same as if the electrical service was ran in pvc pipe.

@MoneyMan55 is correct. once a service uses aluminum feeder wires, code specifies using 4/0 on a 200A service. aluminum doesn't have the same conductivity characteristics as copper, so it takes a larger diameter wire to make up the difference.

the electrician that originally installed your service wire misread electrical code. it's not currently rated for 200A in it's current form.

typically, the gfi receptacles are a cheaper option. generally they're more preferable because they can be directly where you're most likely to interact with them instead of the panel. the plug-on-neutral is a really nice option though.

hard to make out in your pictures, are they both ground bars? or is one a neutral bar that is on stand-off's and the other is mounted solidly in the panel?

if either/both of those are ground bars, the metal enclosure of the panel serves as the path between. i'm not aware of any code requiring the 2 bars be connected beyond via their attachment methods to the metal enclosure.

mixed feelings, as the homeline panel neutrals have only few more holes as the seimens, but are spaced out across the entire length. sometimes make panel swaps harder. homeline also never includes the chassis ground bars either.

    ooohhh boy...

i genuinely hope you mean a whole house surge protector.

but i have installed a "whole house EMP" unit for a customer. they used this one. i'll eat my hat if you can find me any technical datasheets, or specifications to how that product protects an entire house from EMP bursts. there's not any. just wild claims, pride in where it's made, and who's talked about it. because radiation hardening is not as simple as a plastic box, and a few wires connected to a breaker...

A lot of electrical companies push or try to sell whole house surge protectors here in AZ, because of the monsoons/lighting. I don't have one and I'm not aware of anyone nearby that has one. I do have a few surge protectors here and there on indoor home electronics though.
