Just realized this thread started with me asking a question about the Installation Driver. It's gone full circle.

I don't have the fuel versions, but have 1/4" and 3/8" ratchets. Also have a 3/8" angled impact. The Milwaukee socket sets are nice and come with organizers. I'd buy them again in a heartbeat. I decided not to do wrenches though since they seemed expensive for what they were. Ended up going with Tekton wrenches and have been happy with them...

I had been looking for a decent price on serrated blades to cut cardboard with the hackzall and finally just sharpened the backside of a regular blade. After doing a couple garbage cans full of cardboard, I think I really should have done this sooner. It slices ~10x faster through cardboard than any toothed blade I have tried and makes no sawdust so it is good for cutting up boxes inside the house too. Not sure how many others already do this, definitely should have tried it sooner for cardboard.

I got this last summer at full price when my future held a lot of cabinet hinges and casement window hinges on the horizon. This and the surge are at the top of the must-have list.

I am still sitting on holiday HD giftcards for the right red sale and am torn between the 23 Ga pin nailer and 14" chainsaw, both now under $200.

This got me thinking, is there a way to fire headless 18 Ga brad nails from a regular 18 Ga Dewalt air nailer? I think the headless brads need a special gun as the heads sit in that magazine groove to hold the strip in place. Just curious if there is a proven trick to go headless 1/2" on a regular 18 Ga airgun, maybe put a strip of thick tape along the magazine to hold the brads at the bottom as they slide or something.

I don’t think the chainsaw is worth it IMHO. I’d wait for the top handle chainsaw or grab the M12 orM18 hatchet. Otherwise the expectation of an actual gas powered chainsaw will have you underwhelmed.

Speaking of deals did they ever deliver all those appliances on super double discount buy more save more hack? Wasn’t that you who bought like 3 houses worth of appliances?

I wish that was me that ordered those appliances, I'm still sporting 80's oak in the kitchen with a concordia of commensurately colored Kenmore gold-tone appliances. Just waiting for the right decade for it to be stylish again :fingerscrossed::thumbsup:

samsung introduced a fridge with an avacado green and expired-orange swappable panels, so gold should be right around the corner!

Sending my 7 1/4" sliding miter saw in for some warranty work today. Purchased in Nov 2020. Been too long to return to HD. I used the Milwaukee online service/warranty portal and it was approved. Pretty easy. Free FedEx ground shipping. Probably just going to go to the UPS Store to find a box.

    - A big crack developed in the blade insert.
    - The blade guard has been randomly getting stuck in the up position.
    - It's binding at times when swinging the base to the right.

    They're saying 7-10 day turnaround.

    :fingerscrossed:

i really hope warranty turnaround is improved.

last time i tried milwaukee warranty was 2012-ish. i had a drill that the transmission started slipping 2 weeks after getting it. took almost 3 months to get back. but it's not like i can just sit at home and tell customers i can't work because my drill is in for service...

so these days i just buy the 'fell off a truck' ebay-special tools. not saving me any money paying full price for warranty coverage if they're going to take 3 months to get it back.

Yea with turnaround times like that I would probably forget about the tool. I haven’t had to turn anything in within the last year but I know when I did turn in a 18v fuel hammer drill and charger it only ended up taking no more then a month to get back.
