Just love when you can make up a Thai dish that is restaurant quality and GF!!!

Finally figured out this recipe and it was excellent! Tamarind, palm sugar and sweet radish were the key!

finally made it to whole foods...meh... was busy as hell, no one knows proper shopping cart driving etiquette, and lots of empty spots on the shelves. i did grab a few of their 365 store brand things to try - couple pastas and a brownie mix. overall pretty underwhelming.

Hell has a really neat corner for these people, I just know it.

I don’t move. Unwritten laws are unwritten laws!

Also, I’ve been doing the Kindly Brontosaurus since 2007 or so. “Excuse me, pardon me if I reach over your cart that’s blocking the aisle and ____ I’ve been trying to reach for the last several minutes.”

It’s a great tactic if you can remain firm and polite in awkward situations.

Ha! There’s a certain Ludicris song that I sing in my head when I’m at Costco and people are in the way…….mauling the free samples.

that corner is for the people who use those damn racecar shaped carts for the kids and dont know how to steer them - been rammed in the ankles more times than i can count with those damn things and they HURT :angrygirl:
and i'm more of the largely ignore people and just keep moving slowly until they move out of the way or accidentally on purpose hit their cart while i try to pass

I have found the elusive pastas! NOT at Costco BTW :woot:
    0218231708.jpg
And some GF fish sticks. Figured I'd give them a try too for a possible easy camp meal this summer.
    0218231709.jpg
And I was all excited to try the new pasta with a hunk of garlic bread from my local GF bakery but she was sold out so I'm trying to make my own. Been a while since I've made bread from scratch, forgot how long it takes to give the yeast time to do its thing. Got another 90 minutes to go. :hungry:
    0218231701.jpg
Maybe I can start with dessert instead...

Don’t over cook the pasta! It’s super quick - I think I mentioned what I did. 1 minute or so in a water hard boil and 3 or so minutes simmering in sauce. Just a recommendation.

Grandad always ate dessert first (to a point where grandma made sure dessert was ready while she finished dinner) because “you never know when you’re gonna die, have to get every ounce of goodness out of this world.”

at a Super 1 Foods - do you have those down there? They always have a good GF selection. I don't have one local, got to go about 70 miles to the nearest, but I always make time to stop in whenever I'm nearby.

Surprisingly, we have three in the metroplex, all about 90 minutes from me.

they're one of the few stores that put GF stuff on sale - I'll go out of my way to stock up on the Barilla pasta, Krusteaux baking mixes and Pamela's graham crackers when the sales line up. they're also the 1st to have the GF Progresso soups up here. I have been known to reschedule camping trips in the summer so I can come home with a crapload of stuff from them

“Normal” people don’t understand the struggle. You could grocery shop our pantry because I’m terrified of running out of something. Cream of mushroom, for instance. I only ever use it around the holidays and Walmart only ever carries it then, so why do I have 12 cans sitting in my pantry? o_O

Same, same. Around here its just gotten too hit or miss if stuff is in stock that when I find it I just do a little arm sweep of the supermarket shelf and let it all tumble into the cart...
Hi, my name is Lisa and I'm a hoarder of GF food things.
If I did an inventory right now I'd likely have - at a minimum - 4 boxes GF bisquick, 6 cans cream of chicken soup, 2 boxes each Barilla macaroni, penne, rotini and spaghetti, 2 each of the Krusteauz blueberry, cinnamon and cornbread mixes.
