I’m certain he’s part Eskimo, but he flatly denies it, claiming to be Norwegian, of all things.

if nothing else, he was thrilled to have occasion to break out his trusty chainsaw.

No, he’d merely donate them to goodwill.

...for about 300 yards...(and 3 downed trees).

It's all part of the fun. As was the 10 year supply of sheer ice.

TW Express delivered (1/2)...I made really good time from Rhinelander (sped my ass off! :anonymous:). @LarryDangerfield 's doggie is really cool, as were @Stoney Ranger 's. @Taco-Grinder, we'll figure a time to connect soon.

I'm going to bed. 525 miles/18 hrs of fun!

Speaking of speeding, is 10 over considered appropriate? At that, nobody passed me until I hit Dane county.

BTW...thanks, James for being the guide again. Very enjoyable route, even with the icy roads.

James, thanks for putting this weekend together-had a blast! I eventually found hwy 8 and got my bearings, but the drive home was tenuous at the start. Started snowing on me around Butternut, but made my detour through the Penokees beautiful and less slippery...

Yeah James. The trail was cool. I haven't driven on ice like that in years. I was really glad that nobody was behind me on the icy hill I had trouble with. No doubt there would have been body damage. I should have taken some pics, but you were getting away.

I think we were very lucky that the only thing damaged this weekend was that picnic table that attacked my truck Friday night.

I'm guessing alcohol was involved. At least that's how I'd call it if it were me.

No alcohol. If I recall correctly, @pearing was backing in and slid into it. I'll let him clarify, as I didn't see it happen. It was so slippery!

Thanks everyone for showing up! I had a lot of fun, in spite of how much I whined about the ice. I was hoping for more snow and/or mud, but the ice certainly made it challenging! I definitely want to repeat next year, but maybe we try the Lakewood/Laona district :notsure:

When I got to camp Friday evening, as I was parking there was a wild picnic table that jumped in front of the truck. Never saw it, but it took a mighty blow. Small scuff on the front bumper... adds to the patina that my offroad adventures are accruing up there. Wish I could say I slid into it, unfortunately, I never saw the darn thing until it was to late.
