I wouldn’t trust these for anything other than steps, and MAYBE a very light tap. But that’s just me. I’ve seen nerf bars fold up and cause more damage than the rock would have done if it made contact with the rocker panel. If that’s all you plan on using them for you’ll be fine.

Yeah most def. mainly for steps, I won't be doing much rock crawling here in South Florida. For 315$ they look nice and the wife is happy she has a step now!

Well, no comparison possible with Round the World above as that is amazing but here is the winch install. Load out begins today for my first trip...
Badlands 9000lb on a portable cradle and a front hitch. I did not want permanent install. Also wanted affordable as I do not anticipate hardcore off road. Total investment is about 600.00. Hitch, winch, cradle, Synthetic cable and shackles.

Haha! Very comparable. Nice install! And the price, well that can’t be beat. Im not going to tell you how much we spent on our bumper/winch install.

I like this, I’m gonna do the same with my truck because I don’t want all that weight up front full time. Keep it in the bed until I need it, also gives the option to winch from the rear as well. More versatility and on a budget at that. Perfect set up imho

Thanks. I also like the idea of being able to winch from the back. I do not plan to run wires back there but to use a very long set of Jumper cables to power it if needed.

You could run a secondary battery back there

Yeah I could but then I would have to run wiring to keep it charged. If I am doing that I might as well wire in the winch in the back.
I think that rear winching is a less likely scenario as getting pulled out backwards just means you have to recross where you were stuck to move forward.

True but you could pick a different line, and it’s not always you being pulled out, you could be pulling someone else out…if I’m using the winch for myself I’m in deep, winching has always been beat into me as a last resort. But they are great for rolling buddies back to rubber down and pulling them back up from a cliffhanger :rofl:just run lugs to the bed box next to the plug, you’re good to go lmao

Gonna do a soft topper or soft cover (outta sight, outta mind), also going to be welding in a receiver tube to my bedcage to lock it in place so it doesn’t go bouncing out when I’m blasting whoops in Baja lmao
