    Hey guys,

Ok here's the story, I was camping in the pismo dunes in California this weekend. Being a local I know that you are "supposed" to have a flag when you go back in the dunes, off the hardpack or camping sites. Unfortunately I didn't bring a flag and the girls I was with wanted to watch the sunrise from back in the dunes. In the past I have drove right by rangers while back in the dunes, and I never had a flag. But while I was back in the dunes this time I passed a ranger. Sure enough she pulls me over and claims " they are now ticketing for not having a flag" so I'm thinkig whatever just a fix it ticket. And that's what her partner told me too, ya just get a flag and get it signed off and then pay a 25 dollar processing fee. But the dumb bitch marked the box not correctable and so now I have to pay the fine or go to court and contest it. And a damn flag is not worth my time of going to court to try and convince the judge that it is bullshit. So my question for you all is does anyone know how much the fine wi be for a minor?

    Thanks for the help

some of this, a little of that
I guess you could have just had a flag and the "dumb bitch" would not have needed to ticket you. Don't get pissey because she did her job.

    You're a miner?

I don't think the fact that you work underground will affect the fine at all.

Seriously though, if she said it's a fix it ticket and screwed up the box, go to court. If she shows up, you'll get it adjusted to a fix it ticket, if she doesn't you get off.

Pay the fine. You didn't have a flag.

Man up pay the fine and buy a flag. You don't have much of an argument.

I think the OP asked how much the fine would be... not if he should man up and pay it or any other thing some of you clowns posted.

The flag is worthless at night anyway unless you have a damn strobe on the top.

although you knowingly broke the rule, give it a try and tell the judge you were advised by the ranger that it was a fix it ticket... you might get lucky...

haha "miner" my bad, typing on the iphone has once again made me look like i am in the 1st grade haha. Glad you guys were able to get a laugh out of it. Thanks to those who replied. What would be the best argument to try and fight it? "well your honor, her partner informed me that it would just be a fix it ticket, and she ended up not writing it as that. I have fixed it and will be properly equipped next time i take a trip to the dunes."??

doesnt matter if the flag is worthless at night. Obviously it wasnt dark yet if they drove back there to watch the sunset. Also, flags should be on every vehicle out there. Dont have a flag?? Expect to get run the fuck over. I had a friend die at the dunes, its no joke.
