Isn't TPMS just a convenience thing? Why would it be a safety issue if they aren't functioning correctly? People should check their tire pressure once a month anyway, and if you get a flat while driving you'll probably feel it at the same time the light comes on. But I've never had that happen so I don't know.

with working tpms, there's no reason to check tire pressure... thats kinda the point. get it?

 

That's two strikes
1. Drivers are too stupid to check floor mats
2. Drivers are too stupid to see their tire is too low.


Time to re-test people or start taking away driver license

Agree about checking the tire pressure often...I usually go with weekly or so...

Do not agree that you will feel it. I had a tire cut by some trash on the road- It was a slower leak so the tire was only flattening out a little bit but heating up fast. It could have gotten bad if I didn't have that light. And with the load I had on the truck already- I never felt a thing.

 

If you were the #1 auto maker in the United States with the kind of litigious society we have, where a judge decides you're due compensation after you spill hot coffee on your lap, etcetera ad infinitum, you'd be sure to recall the 22,000 trucks that don't have a properly functioning tire pressure monitoring system.

If you didn't, the next thing you know three months down the road as you click the TV on there's a speedway blue Tacoma crashed in a 15-car pileup, and the driver has already told one reporter they don't know why they spun out of control and caused this huge accident, they thought their tire pressure was good, but they'll be contacting their lawyers soon.

Not right, and drivers in general can always have more common sense, but that's the society we live in. As a company, you have to look out for your own ass.

It really is too bad that the majority of people in America are retarded. if the light on your dash is the only way you can tell you have a flat tire, you are a retard. I have not taken my truck in for a single recall since the day i bought it, and i haven't died in a fiery crash yet.

well,this looks like the techs werent recalibrating the sensors during wheel upgrades,not a manufacture defect.....
