Went and looked at a 2023 R1. It was sold so couldn’t sit on it. Looks in person are nice. I really don’t know how to choose if I can’t test ride before purchasing. I did sit on a 2023 BMW s1000rr m package. Holy hell the seat is like a brick. Hardest seat I have ever sat on. Too much money for me though. Still leaning towards the Zx10r but I the racing green.

Well the weather here in Michigan went to crap again last week, snow and freezing rain, that brought out the salt trucks again. Now the roads are white with salt again. So my new bike is still at the dealership, so I went to look at it and pay for some accessories. And yes I did sit on it and dream of riding it soon.
    Panier brackets are on.

I put a little rubber pad on the tank to prevent your jacket zipper from scratching the tank

And I found this little dual USB outlet on Amazon. It also has a switch to shut it off and it has a voltage meter on it.

Pretty fun going to the dealer and looking at all the bikes and accessories.

I sympathize with you about the salt, although on the Tiger, there's aren't any shiny bits to worry about.

I used to ride year round, but my garage is tiny, and after I bought a quad and plow, I had to start storing the motorcycles in the winter.

So no riding for me from mid-December to early March these days.

Test ride with the setup today, tomorrow I’ll play around with centering the tank bag and just using the strap around the frame up front.
Still no power run from the battery so the tablet is running on its own power, found out my heavy leather gloves don’t work with the touch interface but voice commands work pretty well.
Tomorrow I’ll try to get the windshield risers installed so I can push the tablet forward some and I need to figure out if I can configure the tablet to not have the screen go dark after a set amount of time.

The buyer of my CB1000R turned the bike on and immediately shut it off and it wouldn't turn on anymore, then asked for more money off because of "battery problems".

I asked what he expected of a tiny battery trying to turn over a big 1L 4 cyl and then immediately turning it back off. Told him to kick rocks if he didn't want the bike. He bought it anyways.

Battery was probably not in the best condition since it was 5 years old, but I never had an issue with it by actually riding the bike and letting it charge.

Just one of those things that is destined to happen when you go to sell something with a motor. Idiots who tried to start my xt225 didn’t choke it and then ended up flooding it and they couldn’t get it to start. Tried to knock me down on the price and I said no. Sold it to the next person that looked at it.

My tire was back down to 32 lb today after putting a rope plug in place of the mushroom plug yesterday and inflating the tire to 42 psi. I re-inflated it and took it out for a ride this time to see if it would seal and it seems to be holding so far. My friend and I looked over the tire and there are a lot more little cracks and punctures, but none that seem to be leaking. He said my tire looked pretty cooked already anyways.

I'm not super happy with the 6k miles I've gotten out of these Metzlers but I've already bought another replacement tire so I guess I'll keep riding on it.

I've always treated plugs as a way to get off the side of the road, not a permanent repair. Patches are a different story. I've had several of those in the same tire on one of my old cars with no negative effects.

I'm a little (probably too) lax with plugs. I tracked my Miata with two plugs in a tire.

I just want to be able to ride while I wait for the new tire to come in.

Might just have to knock the cob webs off and ride to work this week.
