I just have mine mounted to the ladder. In the above picture I attached them one bar too low. One more higher and it allows for two pairs of skis or a pair and a snowboard. It is a pain to load by yourself but if you use a quick ski strap to the ladder it will hold while you get the snowboard up. Very secure when driving, no worries there. This summer/fall hope to build a diy hitch mount for the rack and use my swing out.

 

I am trying to figure out an issue with my electrical system. I have the yeti 400 battery, the Dickenson propane heater and the fantastic roof fan. When its cold the fan on Dickenson makes a weird noise if I turn it all the way up and the fantastic roof fan won't work. Once the camper is warm, everything seems to work fine. I cam back from ski hill cold temps back to warmer coastal temps (40 degrees) and this morning the same thing. Once the camper warms up a bit it all works fine. Any thoughts?

 

Interesting - I know that it's best to start the Dickenson fan on low and then bring it up to a higher speed if needed (it'll stall if started on hi). Have not had any issue with it making noise though.

I did have issues with the fantastic fan when we had that installed (we now have the MaxxFan) but I think it was user error in our case - the lid has a switch on it that shuts it off if the cover isn't open enough, there was a temp adjustment on ours and I had not paid attention to where it was set and couldn't get it to run until I figured that out...

Does the Yeti have a amp draw on the display? Does the draw change with the heat/cold?

 

If its the original yeti 400, AGM battery, it has an operating temp of 32 degrees to protect the battery and is probably limiting discharge or something.

 

Hi guys, thanks for the feedback. I will not crank the heater fan to max when turning it on and I'll also monitor the temp. It is an AGM battery. It does have a draw display. I am going to take some draw readings in warm and cold temps tinker. I may get a new battery setup down the road.

 

Set the fantastic fan to the coldest setting to make it work in cold temperatures. Even on the lowest setting sometimes you need to warm up the camper a little with the stove to make it turn on.

 

Has anyone touched up the enamel on the the black braces that attach to the jacks? You guys this spray enamel or paint? Maybe a little CLR and a wire brush to prep?

 

Hey guy's, I'm picking up my Kimbo in 2 weeks and wondering what Power Station folks have been getting recently? (my invoice from July shows a EcoFlow River Max). Looking at the EcoFlow website it looks like there is a newer River 2 Max. Thanks

 

Trying out a different way to store clothing in the Kimbo with some hanging shelves. We usually roll our clothes when packing so I think this might work well for us vs using clothes hangers. Fits perfectly in the space after relocating the fire extinguisher down a couple inches.

Not yet - probably a spring/warmer weather goal...I'll likely peel off the big chunks, clean with denatured alcohol and hammerite the exposed areas until I figure out if I'm going to get the quick release setup figured out. I install/remove my jacks quite often and so the paint will not last long with all the abuse. If you're worried about getting a lot of rust, hit it with some naval jelly to etch it and keep the rust at bay.

 

We bag our clothes into cinch sacks and they live on the bed in the winter or the cab of the truck in warmer weather. Interested to see how this works out.

 

UPDATE: The flooring seems to be significantly warmer - granted we were only in the 20's but the floor was not cold to the touch and I hadn't thought about it until i took my shoes off and was standing on the floor in my socks, it was warm enough for me to notice and remember that there was new flooring. We'll get out in some cooler weather hopefully but this seems like a very worthy upgrade for sure.

Also, I picked up a triple mode smoke detector (both smoke detector versions and a carbon monoxide) - I was never happy with it on spar near the floor so I installed it above the window on the angled part of the door. This is also in line with were the manufacturer recommends the unit to be installed. So far it seems to be a decent home for it.

 

Pardon me if this has been covered. I just started my search. My EcoFlow battery in my Kimbo appears to have gone T.ango U.niform. The photos are from this morning and it was plugged into a wall socket. It was not charging, and I have a little red flashing thing that looks like an exclamation point (red circle).

The back story, so to speak, is this: I have my fan running most of the time for ventilation and I live in sunny south florida. About a week ago I spent the night in the camper at a friend's house, and the next morning the battery was down to ~40 when I woke (typical). I was only running my Alpicool fridge and the ceiling fan.. It drops overnight obviously and then gets a charge back up to full throughout the day. Except over the weekend I looked in the window (only running fan at this point) and I was down to ~8%. Then yesterday morning it's at 1%, so I take it into the house to charge it up. It won't charge up in the house, which is what I occasionally do after a few cloudy days like we've had recently.

I went to EcoFlow's website and the only thing I could find for a "reset" was to press the button under the light and the button under the cigarette lighter at the same time. Seemed silly but I tried it. Nothing.

I'm stuck and I think I may have killed it somehow. Any suggestions or knowledge would be welcome.

Only thing I could find was updating the firmware or perhaps reinstall.

 

Drain your battery all the way till it shuts itself off. Then charge it back up to 100%. And drain it again. Do this 3 times and it will factory reset itself. I think this will solve your issue.

 

Anyone have issues with propane not working in cold conditions? It was around 15 degrees F and propane had zero pressure. I have a splitter for a small stove and it wouldn't stay on for more than a few minutes... almost like there was no propane pressure. Heater had the same issue, almost no pressure. I don't know a lot about propane, but I know it shouldn't freeze until it's much colder and I know people that camp in their Kimbos well below 0 with no issues. Only other thing I can think of is the propane line to my stove longer hose that goes below my sink and up to my stove so it has about a 8 inch drop....

It works fine now and was planning to go out again this weekend in CO but don't want to have another cold night with no heater.

Any thoughts folks?

 

That sounds curious - we've been in 5 degree weather without any issue at all. I also have a splitter to run the BBQ and camp stove...however I have to run the camp stove directly to the propane tank because the stove has a built in regulator so it doesn't like to run the regulator on the tank...but this has nothing to do with the heater because the stock regulator is used (should be used).

I had my original battery go T.U. the second week of ownership. Showed the same indication of red exclamation point, but it was the extra battery not the main one. Ended up calling ecoflow and sending it back to get replaced. Kind of a PITA, but I got a brand new unit as a replacement. Now I make sure to check for firmware upgrades regularly.
