People in Jeeps wave at me all the time. I just wish they would use more than one finger.

Sometimes I see them on the side of the road waving with their thumb.

If you're gonna use the Jeep for a daily driver, yes. If you're gonna make it a gonzo rock crawler, no.

Jeeps are for girls these days.

Minivans are more manly. Remember when Dodge made a hemi minivan?

Willy's was defunct by that point. And Toyota had their licensing to build (or enough of it to not get sued)

$1000 for a front brake job. That involves computers being used to release the calipers and to program the new pad depth in.

    Still want one?

That's what the Corning Gorilla glass option is for.

Removing KDSS and XREAS isn't all that difficult.

Public service announcement: When leaving Rhinelander towards Monico on Hwy 8, use extreme caution! My suspension got a major workout! The frost heaves must have been 6" tall. Thankfully, it was for roughly a mile. My teeth have re-set.

Maybe. If I can become good friends with a jeep tech. Or, I'm sure someone will come up with a workaround.

Edit:. That is pretty lame, though. Appreciate the heads up.

    Totally different systems.

But, at least I could keep the rear sway bar and ditch the front if I had the regular ones.

I have a work vehicle and a nice little hatchback, so I can reserve it for camping trips and off-roading.

Not thinking gonzo, though. I'm thinking modest lift and 33 -35" tires. I'm still just thinking about it, though. Maybe I'll go read through some Wrangler forums to scare me off. :D

    His brain froze Sat night?

Maybe he snapped from the ice driving?

    Do we need an intervention?

James has been jonesing for a Jeep ever since he saw Dusty Dave with his big blue electric Rubicon.
I think the scary ice somehow triggered something in his brain.

Nothing to do with the trip. I've been eyeballing them for awhile. I was thinking of trying one out while I wait for the 6th gen 4runner to come out in 2047.

Honestly, if anything, this past weekend made me appreciate the 4runner more.

Seriously, though, I just wanted to drive one to see if it was better or worse than I expected. It was almost exactly what I expected.

Plus, I knew I'd get some kickback if I mentioned it here which would make me think about it more logically. :D

Maybe I better check in there.

Could it be much worse than the 3rd gen Taco forums, though? :stirthepot:

Lol, this is sound reasoning. Again, this could just be a passing fancy. But, It does seem like it would be fun.

No, it's been longer than that. I will say, though, that riding shotgun up Instagram hill in one definitely stuck in my head. That might have been on the same trip.

Lol. Definitely worse than 3rd gen forums. They actually had an entire section dedicated to problems like how we have a dedicated section for wheels and tires on here. Thousands upon thousands of posts. There literally was no part of the Jeeps that escaped issue. If I was at the point in my life where I could afford two new vehicles I wouldn't hesitate to get one as a toy but as my only transportation there's not a chance.

This guy watched me do Hells Gate, in my stock 4R. By Moab standards, it is stock. His Jeep was built including an exo-cage. He thought it would be a piece of cake. Oops.

Yes they're different .... Still not that hard to replace.

It.... Baffles me how complicated those jeeps have become. And yet.... They're still turds.

I've owned two. Granted they were both pre-minivan motor, but still ....

Well, X-REAS can be replaced (well, deleted). Most Limited owners dump it once the shocks go. Some replace the shocks early, especially if they want a suspension lift.

But, you don't really replace KDSS. The mounting points for the standard sway bars aren't even on my frame. I can either keep it, or delete it entirely and have no sway bars. I suppose I could weld on the mounting brackets for a standard rear sway bar if I really wanted to.

Hey, can you remind me which other Toyotas have the 2GR? :boink:
