Hey guys I'm dying to get out to Ocotillo Wells this month to get out relax and moab the taco. I was thinking to plan the weekend of the 18-20th. I don't think it conflicted with any other desert trips. This is going to be low keyed so just show up when you want. Day trip. Whole weekend. I know the area pretty well and probably planning out a few trail adventures like split mt rd to superstition mt and some other stuff through borrego springs and open to any other ideas from fellow TW. Hopefully the weather doesn't do anything strange. Something like the Superstition Mt meet in January, but smaller crowd due to a 2 week heads up.

Can you believe it 3 months flew by already since Lucerne. No wonder why I got the desert bug.

That will be awesome, I like to see a contrast of prerunners and 4x4. Don't worry I wont try to get stuck in sand.

Aww can't do that weekend, following week I'll be out of town and work will shoot me if I request 2 weekends off in a row.

Brian, Pismo meet was just a few weeks ago. Take it easy on the Monster. Plus I don't own paddles yet.

Not yet:( it's at toyota finally after the insurance had it at the wrong place and let it sit for a week and no one went to look at it. But I'll probably be getting a new engine:D so thats a plus. But my girlfriend has been listening to me complain about wanting my truck hahaha

Anything new parts on the fj?

There is a good mix of everything. You got hard 4x4 terrain. Washes to haul ass in with whoops or completely flat. Mixture of sand about 2-4" deep to very hard compact dirt. Trails that can take you different offroad parks like superstition mt or borrego springs. Here is a vid last year when I was out there of just a small sample what is there to offer. It's a different place. Prerunners won't get stuck and 4x4 can find some pretty ugly stuff.
