This is truth. LOL Porsche gave you hush money and a killer loaner as they should! Funnily enough I work with a lot of 1%-ers in my lines of work. You know how many of them own EV's??? ZERO. And I have heard them all mention the same constant... lack of reliability long term compared to ICE. In other words, they are not willing to waste their money on this failing social experiment. So garage size does not matter imo but understanding reality does.

I know looks are subjective but the Rivian doesn’t do it for me. I just think it looks weird on purpose. In general, most EVs are over the top. I don’t want everything controlled from a 27” TV in my car. To me the Nissan Leaf is the most appealing EV as it doesn’t try to be a phone on wheels. It tries to be a car.

Ah yes, you mean reply so obtusely so you do not have to put effort in to replying on a post. Thoughtful. Comical really.

Nonsense, I am having a wonderful day! EV trucks pretty much are proving they are not worth their money throughout this thread. I am just hear to remind you all of that cuz I am from DILLIGAF.

I wish I still had the screenshot of my buddy showing the Rennlist from the dealership here. He sent it talking bout the recall and several emoji eye rolls.
And yes, other toys are great! Just not enough garage space currently. Which is not a bad problem to have necessarily, lol.

No you don't GAF. We all see that. We know what your opinion is just as valuable and everyone else's. But to me you are misinformed and not very knowledgeable about the EV market and trends.

You’re the one spouting baseless bullshit about how it’s not possible. I simply proved you to be wrong and yet you seem to want more. That’s literally the answer for how I can afford nice stuff. Live reasonably, save money, don’t buy a bunch of unnecessary shit so I can splurge to buy an unnecessarily complicated truck because I think it’s cool.

My wife is a tenured professor, can tell you first hand she doesn’t make 300K/year and works from the moment she gets up until she passes out at night. Puts in more hours in 9 months than most do in a year. I have a couple buddies who have the same notion as you, they are greatly ill informed. Too much Fox News is my guess.

As for the 250K range, would think 500-1000 miles would be better even if the commute is short. Less you have to charge the less strain on the grid and energy resources.

They don’t have to be expensive, dirt bike buddy of mine did a Chevy Bolt (or was it a Volt?) under $25K. The cool shit is the expensive shit. Did read an article that companies are approaching it all wrong, building heavy shit that uses a mass amount of resources, instead of being practical. Of course practical doesn’t sell, why we are in the pickle we are in now.

Where does the energy come from to charge to 500-1000 miles?

Toyota said something similar. Basically that using less mineral resources to build plug in hybrids would be better for long term emissions results. With an all electric range of 50 miles most daily commutes could be down in pure electric mode. Less resource intensive vehicles mean more hybrids on the road leading to lower overall emissions.

    i trust toyota and honda

my four wheeled toyota vehicles serve me well and my two wheeled honda machines are worth every penny

knowing how to work hard, work smart, and use numbers to my financial advantage allow for a few extra toys that are fun and perhaps less reliable

i love this country, its amazing what one can accomplish here when you take your head out of the sand

We aren’t there yet. Fusion is most likely the only way to make EVs practical on a mass scale. Battery tech isn’t there yet either. Incredibly hard to have the same energy density as petroleum. Here We are trying to do the same thing that took millions upon millions of years to form.

That 500-1000 miles is only a theory of being less strain on the grid.

I read that, do think they are right. Toyota has always erred on the side of practicality. Why most of us own Toyotas. I could certainly have an EV for commuting, mine is 40 miles round trip. However I do a lot on the weekends and take a bunch of trips during the year, need one do-it-all vehicle. We used to own a fleet of vehicles for our construction business, taking care of multiple vehicles gets old. Just one for me now.
