Have 275/70r17 and 265/70r17 sitting in the garage, trying to avoid rubbing with -10 offset and 1'' 5100 lift, can't decide...

You might rub a little with the 275s, but you won't have to trim much. Likely just the front plastic, removing the mud flaps and little heat gun work to the rear fender liners. That's all I needed with the -10 offset and no lift. After almost a 2" lift, no issues at all under normal driving conditions.

No problem. I might even try putting the mud flaps back on next nice day. I'll let you know how that works out. :)

Same advice. 265s fit easy- especially with a mild 5100 lift -10 offset

Yeah, but this is the 275/70R17 thread :duel:.
Okay, I'm going outside to freeze and see if my front mud flaps still fit.

Lift doesn’t help clearing larger tires.

I installed just the front driver side factory mud flap. The tire rubs it on hard left turns.
Anyone have any luck with aftermarket front mud flaps that 275s will clear?

You are 2inch lift in the front, right? With -10 offset wheels?

Yes, 1-3/4 to 2" lift in the front.

I also have the same setup with the same rubbing. I removed the front flaps for now but shopping different options. Maybe new wheels lol. I’m not loving the blue as I did initially.

That color paint looks good with the blue wheels.
Are you hitting the cab mount at all with the Falkens, since they run a little bigger than the rest of the 275?
    What fog lights are those?

thanks. Thinking about just doing something less “color”, bronze, black, grey etc. I have some KMC Wrath in bronze in order but they’re on back order.

Does not rub anywhere with the flaps removed. These are 17x8.5 and -10 offset. Fogs are stock with laminX, I love them.

How’s the ride quality on the block? I want to go with that. People are tying to talk me out of it. I don’t really haul much at all and not often. I’m probably leaning more toward the 1.5 block. But still curious about your experience.

Blocks are uesd all the time for aftermarket lift and some trucks come with a 1/2 in to an inch block. I would not go more than a 2 inch block. I run a 1 inch block going on 4 years on my Tacoma and have done it many times on other trucks with no issues. My Tacoma didn't change when I did a 1 in block.

Adding a leaf would stiffen the rear and that's not something I want for off-roading. I will also not add weight to the rear which is a reason why I went with the block. The only thing I have been able to compare to so far from stock and what I have now is that going over speed bumps are bit softer.

I don't think the blocks actually do anything other than adding height. 2" because I don't like the level look. I wanted to keep the OE rake as much as possible.

Got new wheels and tires finally installed. 17x8 FN Countersteer Xs wrapped in Toyo AT3s. 275 is the prefect width. Wish they made more 275/75/17 options for a bit more height, but this will do.
