As it says, getting ready to buy a Tacoma, and Im running through the usual (i know everyone has to ask the same questions when they are new, the math just worksout) like "should I get the I4 or V6", "whats your MPG?", and "will the 4 door make me look fat" :).
Anyways, just looking for a good solid link on the basics because from my 8 years experience with tuning cars, Im sure its annnnnoying to answer the same ones everyday. Any help is great!
PS: absolutely insane site built here guys, perfect!

Hello neighbour. My 010 gets about 17 or 18 mpg right now with 265's and only 4000 km's on it. It's not the gas that costs it's the aftermarket parts.:D

Ya Im gonna keep it totally stock. Just buy a tonn cover and thats it.
Not sure where Im going though, heres the obvious 2 Im thinking hard about
    -2011 I4 access cab auto
(mpg is great, but some people say say its a tad sluggish)
    -2011 V6 dbl cab auto
(pretty fair mpg, and more room if I have passengers and what not. But realistically trying to decide if its worth the more cash flow)
    -----
Long story short, I owned a 2008 civic SI, loved it. But bought a house and use our company truck so I decided to sell it because I didnt use it ever. NOWWWWWW, my work pissed me off and Im joining the Union up here, soooooo I need a new daily driver, so Im looking at one of these beasts.
    Thanks for the imput

Notice how almost everyone who says the I4 is adequate has the manual tranmission. If you need/want auto, get the V6.

If you will be towing anything get the V6. Towing can be done with the I4 but its not enjoyable. If you are getting the I4 and want 4x4 I believe it's only available in a 5 speed manual.

    this lol
    True though, v6 for towing.

I4 is sluggish but mpg is really nice. Especially when you came from a 97 F250 with a 460.... :/

You'd be surprised what the 4 banger can tow though

Im honestly not gonna tow anything. If so I wouldnt be buying this truck. Im thinking about a 3 year lease on it, then decide what I want in 3 years. 1.9% lease seems like a good deal to me.
I am super glad I looked at the Tacomas too. I was all ready to buy a 2007 ram mega cab 2500 5.7 but someone beat me to it. I lucked out anyways because the mpg on that thing was so bad it would be parked more then my house.
If I do decide to tow anything in the future (just turned 24 so im not gonna be dong the whole family/big camper thing anytime soon) I wouldnt expect to do it with the 2.7
Thanks alot for the help gents!

You gotta get 4x4. So if you want automatic, you have to get the V6. They don't make a 4cyl auto 4x4. Why not get a v6 4x4 auto access cab?

    And welcome to the site!!

well if money was no object I would get the double cab, but it sort of is because we put A LOT of extra money on our mortgage, so Im stuck.
They do make the new 2011 tacoma 2.7 4x4 auto too. Drove it this week!!!!
