What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

This looks cool and all but your knife and Leatherman are going to make for some serious projectiles in a front end collision.

 

wow that sucks, 4 year old, and I'm still rocking oem on my 2009,

 

didn't do anything to my 2nd gen other than replacing a pod light with a water leak and then replaced all the connectors with quick disconnects incase i ever want to swap them around.
thought this weekend i did replace an engine fan and added some lighted dune whips on my nephew's 90 Toyota truck. was super nice knowing that power and wiring was already run, and switches already installed.

Yaaa, 20 year old me wanted a loud truck.... oh well, now it's even louder..... for free

 

that i get i was thinking about headdind down to my local exhasut shop having them throw a 36in long CherryBomb and a Borla muffler with a small turn down maybe get some rumble but maybe not as loud as just that CherryBomb like a few kits basically look like they are designed after.

 

yep! 100% i need to reseal the front of my camper and there is a roll of the "square" seal just waiting for my nephew to show up to help me. after all the recent repairs on his truck

 

Ditto here still have oem 2008 exhaust on my 2008. If it goes I will upgrade to a Gibson exhaust but "if it ain't broke don't fix it".

 

yeah all ive done is chop the exhaust back up just over the axle and removed that rear most exhaust bushing. and thought about slapping my exhaust tip back on it.

 

Yeah, maybe. I'll take my chances. Lol

 

Added auto up/dn main door switch for all windows. Waiting on the passenger front auto up/dn switch with the lock switch to arrive. Chose white led backlight. Works great. Quality seem to be very good. Feels nice and solid.

 

Got my hands on a color matched shell with a front runner rack for a killer deal. Was just a long haul to go get it.

 

Put in a new winch line after busting the original (fairlead bolts snapped and twanged the rope, under tension, against the bumper edge ), and turned the good parts of old one into some soft shackles and extensions.

Finally caught up on a few projects.
Got a third brake light added to my Softopper. LED has neo magnets epoxied to the back, more magnets on the inside of the top to hold it in place. Wiring is tapped to the brake light via a weatherproof Deutsch connector so I can pull one plug and fold the top down.


Also finally got my Blue Sea Systems panel installed in the bed and power run so I can run the Iceco fridge while driving and not crowd my daughter in the back seat.

 

I like the magnet idea, I’m assuming no issue when going highway speeds?

 

I’ll let you know when I get it on the highway, but I don’t anticipate it. There’s six neo magnets on the light, six more inside the top, and just one was enough to hold the weight of the light.

IF they let me down, I’ll just bolt the SOB into the top bow but I’m trying to avoid punching holes in the canvas.

 

Pretty much exactly how and where I installed my fuse box and buttons.

I put a bunch of silicon around the bolts n stuff over the fuse box

 

New springs, delta joints and bushings.

 

That's a great idea routing the brake light to a plug mounted in the side wall of the bed. Beats the heck out of having the connection dangling around like I do. Looks like I found my next project. Where did you find that at?
