Thanks for looking and providing some direction on this... I sent the pictures and info I've discovered back to the installer and I'm going to have them lower the spring load to 2" based the feedback here and this video on Adjusting Coilover Spring Preload Or Spring Seat Height https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=_JdsUcF53IE#dialog ... I'm taking it back on Tuesday, so we will see what happens. I will follow up here with the results. Thanks again!

Good luck, hopefully you get it straightened out.
Just curious, do you have new tires on there? If so what psi are they?

thanks! no the tires have about 15k on them they are BFG K02s, got them when I got the rims and some upgraded bilstens. I did adjust the air based on some things I read previous, right now running 37lbs... it was lower, like 32lbs. but it didnt make any difference. still have the boat effect (I'll call it) at any of these 2...

Last question, did they do, or did you get an alignment? If so do you have the numbers?

They said they did an alignment, it feels pretty straight. hard to tell on a non-smooth road because you're boating all over the place... No, they didnt give me the numbers. Should they?

Not really, just good to have when there are questions. I know mine felt like a boat before a hood alignment but that was steering not how the ride itself felt

LOL was just getting ready to post an update... Yes, took it in, had them drive it for a mile so they could see what I was talking about... boat effect, wobbly, bouncy, what every you want to call it... the tech was ready to spew also... so had them lower the front strut to 2" from the lock ring to the first thread... and Night and Day! 100% better. Not sure why they didn't do that to begin with, but the spring preload was too much... I guess. Thanks again for all the replies and help! being new to this... that helped a ton.

nice! It might seem like a lot but it’s pretty “easy” to instal. Just removing and replacing things. Even more so on newer trucks. If you have someone to help that will make it smoother. I’d recommend getting the struts prebuilt and ready to install.

Definitely getting them pre-built. My only concern at this point is corrosion over time. I'm up in Maine and they drop salt on the roads like you read about, I read at least one post on here about how the Ironman components corrode quickly, I'm guessing their all like that but who knows. I may start a thread asking which manufacturer makes the best corrode proof components. Not really liking the idea of replacing springs/leafs and shocks every 3 years because their rusted out. What are your thoughts on that?

That’s a tough one to answer and I think you’ll get a lot of different opinions. I’ve been treating mine with Woolwax and they’ve not shown any rust. Some oxidation on the shocks though. I’ve heard and seen some people that have had theirs rust. Treating might be the best way since rock and stuff can hit the items and give access for rust to start. Might be worth posting in the Maine or NE forums and seeing what they do too.

Doing some research on this setup. Not a ton I can find. Still looking though. Some of the pics in this thread seem to show pretty steep CV angles. That concerns me. Any thoughts on that? Thanks

I’ve lowered the lift until the cv angles were good. By that, I mean the fins are not touching. I’ve not updated my main post yet but in now have King 650# Springs paired with the Foam Cells and am really happy with the set up.

Lots of other info here (but a lot of bsing too) https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/ironman-4x4-foam-cell-pro.427407/

Glad you’re happy with the results now. I’m really leaning toward the Ironman setup. What made you switch to king coils?

I felt like the ride was too stiff for my liking when paired with E rated tires. It was not a bad ride, I just can’t help myself and wanted to see if it could be better. After a while I was just going to keep the lowest weight springs IM has, the 720# but saw the king springs on a really good sale and decided to try them out.

if I had the same budget I would get the IM kit again. Not having to rebuild them, or if needed I can since no nitrogen, is a great advantage.

So, that has me wondering now… I was all set to order the foam pros with 2.5 heavy front springs because I’m going to run a steel bumper and winch…. I don’t like the rubbery/marshmallow ride the TRD OR has stock, but don’t want it to ride like my Ram 5500…

Id get the “B” springs and you’ll probably be fine. I have sliders and a front skid… and the oem bed mat as constant weight. Probably not even close to the weight you bumper and winch are.

Are B springs the heavy ones?
