Does anyone else see their Starlink drop connection every few nights for about 3 minutes? It’s been doing this for months.

 

Haven't noticed that, but mine seems to drop for a few seconds several times a day. It's like a slow web page, but on sites that typically are very responsive, like TW. My Starlink app, when it works, indicates there are obstructions, and to expect an interruption every 2 minutes. This even though I have a wide-open view to the North.

Still, I'll put up with these minor annoyances cause the overall service is still WAY better than the DSL I used to have!

 

I haven’t noticed but I generally don’t have my Starlink powered up 24/7 and only turn it on when I’m using it to conserve power.

 

They released an app update and now my trusty OG round dish isn’t the display anymore.

 

I haven’t noticed a drop every evening but then again, i have a slight obstruction so I have regular, hardly noticeable drops daily.

I’m about to order one for roaming / best effort service since we’re on an endless wait. I was going to try the RV unit since I know a load of folks that have it, but I’d rather lay down a temporary small fee for deprioritized roaming than permanent deprioritized data with the RV model.

We’ve been waiting over a year for the local fiber company to offer service to us (they have fiber at the pole in front of our house) and there’s no ETA for offering service.

 

Starlink might be stalking me.

I just ordered a residential unit to put into roaming mode until my service address changes / my spot in line opens up. I’m fine with deprioritized data until then because it’s still faster, and more reliable, than Hughesnet.

 

Another price increase for me. Started off at $90 two years ago.

 

I hope they expand to our area soon - still riding the old DSL line with a blazing 1.9 Mbps download and 0.19 Mbps upload.

 

You can sign up for the RV plan at any time if you don’t want to wait for your specific location to have more availability.

 

We are in the "no availability" area that is supposed to get coverage sometime this year.

 

Even at this increase, it’s still better than Hughesnet in our area. When it works, it’s fine until you hit your comically low data cap.

$120 is a lot for internet, but they know folks in remote areas have no choice.

Doesn’t make sense to me to have different prices within a country.

 

I got the email that mine is being cut down based on where I had it shipped. That won’t last lol
