You should not have continuity across the terminals.

Do you have a test light?
You could check it easy enough.
Clip the test light to body ground, then prob 3 with key On and Off.
If the light comes on, you have a problem.

Same can be done with a voltage meter too.
You’d just be looking for voltage.

I should note that, you will have continuity between 1 & 2
So be sure you are checking the correct terminal. It’s easy to get confused. Even I’ve done it.

I have voltage at 3 with key on. & I did look up the denso relay diagram, so 3 being the “middle” one. 2nd up from the bottom.

    With key on, I have voltage at 2 & 3. None at 1 & 4 (5).

    That’s the shift lock relay.
This is from the ‘01 wiring manual

Ok. I thought you were still messing with the PWR Outlet relay.

Hold on a min, let me look at the full diagram for the EFI

You still should not have continuity across 5 and 3.
    And 2 is a ground.
So you have voltage on pin 2?

Oh, I am. Actually I was trying to see if there was any change if I pulled the other. That kinda thing.
Plus the EFI fuse blew a while back & I did not get to the why behind that.

Grrrr…. Just when I thought I was getting it right. Forgot to flip the relay diagram. So key on, I am getting voltage at 1 & 3.
Odd? thing is the voltage to 1 is low.
    At 3 it’s 12.70
    At 1, it’s down to 11.88 & slowly falling.

No continuity across 1 & 2 using beeper.
    9.86k ohms for a reading

This ohms reading is on the ground side. 1, yes, 1. Vertical slot on the top right. (Think I got it).

Late into this is this all about O2 sensors? If so they are voltage sensitive readings, the changes are voltage related.

nope. Moved on. Hunting down anything & everything that is suspect for my high, hunting? idle. I believe it has been figured out that I need a crankshaft position sensor, which if I do indeed need it, should help. Still doesn’t explain this EFI or any other electrical weirdness.

Could a faulty crankshaft sensor cause the EFI & CEL issues since all are connected to RPM's?

    I honestly don’t know.

My understanding is that the 1st Gen truck will not energize the fuel pump until it sees a crank signal.
The fuel pump is powered by the EFI relay. The EFI relay is controlled by the ECM.
The EFI relay feeds a lot of things. Such as the Idle Air Control and the AFR Sensor.

If you know the Crank Sensor is bad, replace it.
I wouldn’t bother with anything else until it’s replaced.
