Yep, I've been following all of the trail conditions pages and it was a heck no after the snow storm a week or so ago.

Thanks for the help! I've got everything booked and am looking forward to riding out there for the first time.

Anyone have any experience on the San Quinten steel hardtail from Marin? Super sale with SLX for a grand (normally 2500) is tempting to swap parts with my carbon bike to bring my price down… wanted to get an RSD middlechild, Nimble 9 or Honzo ST so contemplating a triple swap or just trying out the marin…

Yup. Got the email and updated my post a little bit after the first post. Thanks though.

I thinks it’s super hot if you’re into steel American made bikes. Not hot at all if you aren’t .

That pic was for the locals...
That area is the top of a rowdy ass run in Lefthand Canyon, CO. No surprise they ride that a bunch, it's minutes away from their HQ. Based on that alone I would have guessed a long travel beast. Looks excellent.
Edit: Just went to their site. Looks like the whole intro show is filmed there. Used to ride there regularly. Good times.

I prefer steel for hardtails and road bikes.

Full suspension steel is just odd.

    not enough.
    i should mention,
for gooseberry, you have a lot of options to do it. definitely get out to the lookout but be careful out there. There have been a few incidents of people going off the cliff. I like to go counter clockwise. and then hit "hidden canyon" at the end. but of course, you're free to explore that entire mesa. LOTS of riding there. Just keep an eye on weather. if it has rained, be careful on the dirt road right off the highway. it gets muddy and a lot of folks have needed to get towed out.

guacamole, is fun but it will wear you out. a lot of up and down. like...a lot. so conserve your energy. Getting up to it is also, no joke. I would be very wary if there was any amount of moisture. mud plus cliffs are not a great combo.

I haven't ever ridden hurricane rim. Couldn't tell you what that's like.
I would also suggest wire mesa. either direction. It's a fun chill ride with just enough tech to keep things interesting and some flow if you look. Great viewpoints too.
if you've got some first-timers or just want something SUPER mellow with a lot of options: bearclaw poppy. make your way to the "three fingers": https://www.trailforks.com/poi/490/

paradise rim, barrel, mega zen are in st george proper and don't absolutely require any scary "offroad" driving. Barrel is my favorite of those three for sure.

Appreciate the input! Was going to bring my bike, but decided to rent while out there from Over The Edge. Doing two days on acoustic bikes then two days of ebikes. Current idea is to hit some of the more technical riding on the regular bikes and save the ebikes for more mellow higher mileage/elevation rides.

Only time I've ridden an ebike was on a fire road and it was wild - not sure I am comfortable with technical riding while learning to deal with assisted pedaling. Will be working on getting some trailforks routes mapped out over the next week or so with your comments in mind.
