Yeah be thankful that tire didn't bounce through your windshield at that speed.

Sorry to hear about the accident. As mentioned earlier, your truck can be replaced. Also glad you are ok considering you are going 65ish. If that was my truck, I will move on to a newer truck and have peace of mind. Whatever you decide, I m confident that you will stick with the Toyota brand. Regards.

Likely totaled. This is about $8k on a 2021, thanks to a suicidal deer.
A little more and they would have considered cutting me a check for $36k. No airbags deployed.

Sorry to hear about your accident. If no bags deployed, most likely it is possible to be repaired. This will mean you won't have the Taco for a few weeks to months.

It's in the process of being repaired. The body shop has had it since Jan 9th, and it's still a week or two out from being finished. Although, they've been telling me "next Friday" since 4 Fridays ago.

Just think of the additional damage that would have occurred without that skid plate. I think they are great skid plates considering they are OE, Most OE "Upgrades" on the market suck. I will say they are too expensive though. I had mine included for free when I bought the truck, but I would not have bought it myself purely due to the cost.

Sorry, haven't had much time to post an update. No word yet on the cost of the estimate. Seems the consensus, here and amongst people that have seen it, is the truck is likely totaled. Will update as the situation develops. Thank each and everyone of you for your kind words. As many of you pointed out, the passengers and I are very lucky to have not been injured. Hope everyone stays safe out there. This incident is a perfect example of the road being extremely dangerous, even while acting with utmost caution.

Glad it hit on the strongest and safest place to hit something up front. Imaging that tire hitting directly to windshield……..

Hopefully Op sees the good on the bad situation…. It could have been horribly wrong..

truck can be fixed or replaced..

Shop says she is done. Frame is stuffed upward from the impact. Will keep everyone posted. Have a wonderful day.

Yep, sounds right. If/when the frame is gone, it’s cost prohibitive to fix

    Well dang!
Just so you know, it sounds like new frames take weeks or even months to get,,, before the rebuild even starts. So when you talk to the adjuster, just make sure he/she is aware,,,, I’d guess they are. Of course that timeline matters even more if they are footing the bill for a rental car.

I could really go for a suicidal deer about now, new Winch Bumper, Winch, Pro Grill, and maybe some nice Baja Designs Lights. Come on Bambi, get out here and play in the streets!

Plus, I could use some more Venison in the freezer.
