Hey all. My heater had been squeaking some on these cold days, this morning it quit blowing air except for on HI.
I see a lot of references to the resistors on 2nd gens on here but not finding anything on 1st gens. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers

Shit bolted onto other shit, and junk.
I recommend you pull the fan apart and check the brushes as well as clean them. The fans are all the same motors with brushes and electric currents. They build up dust and debris as well as west out and need attention. They usually just blow on HI when the connection at the rotor is so poor it won’t support the lower current settings for LO and MEDIUM speeds.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
Time for a new Blower Motor resistor they get brittle with age and just fall apart.

It should be easy to see to the left of the motor .

High Speed is direct and by passes the resistor.

It does not hurt to pull the motor and check things while you are working on that area,

I don’t know how you can possibly manage.

It was a much nicer -15* when I woke up this morning.

I was in New Orleans once in mid August.

I’ll take -15* all day every day over 98* and 99% humidity. I almost made peace with God and said, “take me now.”

On the bottom of blower motor is a place to add oil to lub bottom bearing, no need to pull, just add oil
