I'm trying to figure out what front bumps to go to. I got a set of Timbrens for a steal so I used those as a placeholder if they didn't suit my needs, which I need to measure but don't think they are.

This helps me a lot. I haven't heard much about the archive garage. I think I will try summosprings in the front and the archive garage option #3 in the back.

You guys do any light towing? Just curious. I don't do much. Just a light trailer with a 4wheeler or a boat, once in a blue moon.

Definitely one of the sleeper companies. Don't hear all types of hype about them from the brolanders, but they know what they're doing. I tow from time to time, but I haven't towed with this new set up so I can't speak to how it feels. I will say though, I'm sure it's better than factory. Haha

All of these options seem crazy expensive for what they are. I'm running OME/Dakar EL111R with no bump stop at all. I like the idea of adding something, but it seems like a 3" neoprene pad would do the trick.

Archive being a really nice beefy ubolt flip and bump stop kit for $300 is pretty reasonable compared to the rest of the market, especially with the quality of the kit and company.

My only minor complaint with my 2” lift kit is that the front bottoms out when I hit speed bumps/potholes going a bit too fast.

Would better bump stops help with that?

Are you sure it's bottoming out? But yeah, bump stops can help

Bottoming or topping out whatever it’s called. I can hear and feel a “thud” when I’m on the rebound stroke of the shocks. If that makes any sense.

That's due to loss in downtravel from lift.

Yes I know that. I was asking if bump stops would help.

If you measure your shock at ride height, from top hat to lower mounting bolt, what measurement are you getting?

You want to be less than 21.5"

Hmm, ok thanks. I’m picking up my truck tomorrow, will measure and report back.

And if it’s not, what happens then?

If you know that, then you should see that bump stop has nothing to do with it. Haha

This is my first lifted truck so I’m
Still learning. So what would help me in this case?

    Also, does that damage anything?

I’ll vouch for the Archive Option #3 also. I installed the TRD OEM lift on my 2021 TRD OR last year. I only ordered the parts of the kit I wanted and did the work myself so I saved a bit of money. The drawback was I didn’t realize I needed extended U bolts when I placed my original order. Once I did I figured I might as well do the U bolt flip kit vs just using Toyota extended u bolts if I needed to replace them either way. Archive offered a great solution at a good price, when I called with some questions the owner answered the phone and he offered a military discount on an already competitive price. Everything went together great, the parts are top quality and they’ve held up great since then. If I’m being honest I also dig the yellow color in the back lol.

There's no "fix" for it, aside from reducing the preload in the coilover and losing lift.

A major limitation of an IFS suspension system is that it has a limited amount of travel from full stuff to full droop. When you lift an IFS truck, all you're doing is adjusting where the truck sits at ride height within that range. The more lift you add, the less droop you get.

Ideally, someone would make aftermarket leaf packs that add minimal lift, so we wouldn't be chasing the rear lift with the front lift.

I tried reaching out to Deaver for a custom leaf pack that would provide 0 to 1" if lift, but have load characteristics similar to their U402 stage 1 (what I currently have)... but I never heard back.

Bottoming and topping out your truck a lot will cause damage yes.

Lowering your truck will help reduce topping out, bottoming out can be helped with bigger bump stops.

    I knew that, yes.

Sucks there is no “fix” for that. So even aftermarket UCAs and extended travel shocks won’t fix that?
