Totaled? Love some opinions.

I don't think it's totaled.

 

Was leaking from radiator. And destroyed overflow as well.

 

Right front wheel looks crippled in the picture(?). The frame might needs attention if the suspension got damaged.

 

yeah not sure if the frame is bent. Was injured so went to doctor but the LCA/axle bent from hitting the vehicle I’m assuming.

 

I had a similar front on accident and front passenger control arm had broken weld at frame and it was a write off.
First two assements had really high repair estimates and 3rd inspection found the broken weld so they totaled it.

 

LCA/axle are definitely damaged. Bumper is also tilted and pushed in. Pictures do not do the justice. Haven’t gotten to go to the truck yet as my knee is bummed and had bad migraine .

You;d want it totalled but sadly, your aftermarket front bumper prevented the airbags from going off. Because of this, it’s probably not totalled. No bueno

 

I’d be very picky. I had a 2006 ram had some significant damage and the repair shop continued messing up the repair and I continued to find issues. You also should be able to ask for OEM parts. All said and done the final repair bill with rental car included for months the truck would have been totaled if the shop had found all issues and correct parts but the repair was mostly done so the insurance paid for it.

 

If the shop you have it at is pushing to repair versus total because it benefits them, I'd get it out of there and find a different place..JMO

 

We shall see. 15k in damages before ever getting truck on the lift & looking at frame.

 

You’re getting close … depending your state (different % of repair cost to/value). Prob around 22-5k in damages will do the trick

Yes but with this being said it makes me wonder what they’ll do to play with numbers to stay under the total limit. My insurances preferred body shop and was told they would use the determined quote for repairs given at this shop for wherever I decide to go.

 

I’m okay my knee is a little bummed. Why should I call an attorney. Sorry first accident ever.

 

Check the frame to see if it's bent or creased

 

I believe this is what my shop did for my repair. They had my truck 3 separate times. Only the original quote was how the insurance figured if it was totaled or not. When I got it back the bumper, grille and intercooler lines were wrong. All things that the insurance had to pay on top of the original quote. Not sure if you could ask for a bill of materials that will be replaced to ensure you get everything right the first time.

I love my truck but I’d rather it be totaled then deal with a patched up truck. If they do rebuild it for you, make sure you inquire about diminished value from the at fault insurance. Your truck if repaired will never be worth as much as it was pre accident and you should be compensated for that.
