not a skinny guy but looks good! I’m torn as I think 285s would look best but don’t think I’ll be able to pull it off with this setup and my TE37xts

Installed my Fox 2.5 PES rears last weekend. Anyone else have an absolute headache trying to get the rear lower shocks to line up with the mount?

Noticed the metal sleeve inside of the bushing is not centered. Causing one side to have "more rubber", which gets distorted and protrudes out the bolt hole. My other rear shock is the exact same way, so I'm going to assume this is by design. The installation manual didn't mention anything about this nor which side the shock should be installed.

I ended up installing the side with "more rubber" facing towards the wheels as I could monitor the rubber and use a tiny flathead screwdriver to direct the rubber from protruding. Lubed it up with a lot of waterproof grease, beat it with a dead blow hammer, and used screwdrivers to pry and push for alignment. Passenger side bushing got a little too marred up so I had to cut a sliver off the bushing with an razer blade.

Same exact issue. Accutune told me that Fox has super tight tolerances to fit that way. took a bit to get it lined up for sure though. It's worth it!

Hmm, that's good to know. Kind of sucks beating up brand new parts just to get them to fit. Hoping I didn't compromise the integrity of the shocks or the bushings.

Would you happen to know if the metal sleeve inside your bushing on the rear shocks was more towards the wheels or the differential?

I honestly can't remember but I just placed it based off the reservoir hose side out and the eye was in line so I went with that. Def a bit off hitting with a mallet and manipulating. The rubber got a little pressed like you said too.

Looking at some used fox 2.0 with resi's, I'm currently listed about 2.5 in the rear. The ones I am looking at are a 0-1.5" spec, what is the main difference between the variations? Longer stroke? Thanks!

Like suggested, I would install as is to see where it sits. Measure and make preload adjustments afterwards.

We don't make preload adjustments prior to shipping out. Customer will need to make adjustments (if needed) during install.

I am contemplating a minor lift or level. Leaning towards 2.5 IFP's up front and 2.0 performance reservoirs in the rear. I don't know if this is overkill for the small lift I want, or if I should drop down to 2.0's front and rear.

Sanity check. Are these clamps in the correct orientation (Performance Elite's). Manual said to not feed the clamps through the slots in the brackets.

Bilstein 8100 rears were this way as well. Was an absolute pain in the ass getting them to line up on passenger side especially.
That said my 8100 are oem length in rear and I’m highly considering Fox PES 113 for rears or tundra 2.5s

I can't comment on them yet as I just installed. I believe the Fox PES 113 and the converted Tundra rears share similar specifications for travel. Real difference is PES comes standard with DSC, aluminum body, and U cup seals.
