That's what the dealer told me when my truck was under my first visit with toyotacare that it needed an alignment. They said it was very common in these tacomas that they were sent out with too much toe in for the passenger front wheel. I never was charged anything for it being in what they called the first 10k mile, or 1 year grace period of toyotacare.

I gotta admit, that’s pretty slick. The tread measuring and the body damage cameras are great ideas too.

I’m not sold on it though, I’d wanna see the pre-adjustment specs from a proper alignment machine after that Quick Check machine makes the call on my “out-of-spec alignment”......

    Yeah...I'm skeptical too.
It could only do toe and camber anyway.
Static alignment is also different than dynamic alignment. How much...depends.

It was Riverhead Toyota on Long Island, NY. I am taking my tacoma in for service on
Monday, but will probably decline alignment if offered

It's all part of Dealers trying to make as much money as possible. We Dealership Techs (Ford) had to do Multi Point Inspections on every car we worked on. The fancy handheld battery tester would fail many batteries. I took it into the parts department and it failed many of the new batteries . I bet these alignment checking machines are similar with very tight parameters.

We had it, it actually is pretty accurate. The problem is people don't trust it, and would rather have the tech recommend it.

It cant detect caster or steering wheel position. I usually sell alignments off steering wheel angles and/or tire wear.

Same up here in NH. At the 10k tech said I needed an alignment. It’s a quick $99.99 hit. I declined. My tires looked fine.
