It’s going to get crazy cold overnight. It’s just above freezing right now and everything is melting just enough to break a plastic shovel and have to use a D handle square spade metal shovel. By tomorrow morning it will be an ice rink.

My friend from Portland asked me how much snow we got yesterday. I sent her a picture of the sunny, dry grass out the window

Coldest winter in 15 years here. Above average snowpack. Plenty of water to grow lots of fresh grass in the hills so it can burn down in August.

We had one of those too, every year for about 4 years in a row, a place burned down in the spring in Old Orchard Beach, so it was our fifth season. Different approach, though.

CA having big rains...
I said "Yeah, that happens this time of year...how else will they grow all the desert plants that then dry out as part of their life cycle...and then burn in 3 months..."
