yeah I would look into any local leaf spring manufacturers you might have nearby, I didn't think to do that when I got my Alcans...which I'm super happy with but I learned afterward that we have at least a half dozen spring manufacturers in my area that could probably have built me a custom set as well for less $ (esp shipping).

Some years back I had a 1988 Toyota 4x4 pickup that had tired springs. I took it to a local spring shop, and asked for their recommendation. They ended up re-arching the springs that were on it. They may have also added another leaf, but it was a while back and I don't exactly remember the details. The re-arching did the trick, I got some height back and it rode the same as before.

    Wish I'd kept that truck...

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
Not very many of those old style spring shops around any more.

It was so very interesting to watch leaf springs being rebuilt.Replacing one leaf and re arching were common

you wanted a custom coil spring the shop would make it while you waited.

    I miss those days.

True. I did drive that way the other day, and I could swear they still looked open. I may pay them a visit and see if they can breathe some life into my frowning leaf springs.

Problem is, if they did, I'd need to find some new coil springs for the front.

If they are old school they might have the tools and material to make what ever coils you need.
