I’ll have to look at my receipt. I recall asking them to change all fluids. Also my truck is a 2.7, which has a non sealed trans. I have a dipstick

Hmm I haven’t but I did change hubs and calipers…It was making the vibe before the install though. Also thinking maybe engine mounts. When it’s most noticeable is under load or in gear (revving in neutral vibe disappears, but there’s always a vibe while rolling at 50 mph) so maybe there’s an exhaust leak that widens when the engine shifts. Also most noticeable noise on cold engine. Wonder if I’m dealing with exhaust leak before the heat expands the metal, and then a vibe from u joints at higher speeds?

Wheel bearings? All vehicles have front wheel bearings

I added that spacer when I swapped to 3rd gen strut assemblies. Truck has been perfectly lean-free since then. Didn't remove the ball joint and that was a super tight installation.

So here’s one of the vibes I’m chasing. You can hear it at 30+ mph, and it feels like a tapping in the floorboards. If I didn’t know any better I’d think it was the front driveshaft lightly tapping on something. My tires are pretty unevenly worn but not sure if that’s the issue?

I was having some vib issues like that a while ago. Not as severe. But Maybe it's your tire balance. I had a bunch of work done and tire balance and it is pretty much all gone. I had vibration at 100km/h in 4x4.

Thanks man. It’s just so weird and hard to explain it feels “Grindy” but I know from owning motorcycles that tires do some WEIRD stuff lol

Update: driveshaft is out, u joints move freely on one axis and super stiff on the other. Praying that that’s my vibration issue

Got some rock lights as a Christmas gift and I'm not much of a rock lights guy so I installed a couple under the hood. They have a door switch to turn them on when you open the hood as well as a toggle to fully disable them. I also considered I'd have to have the battery out at some point and still want the lights, so I made a jumper cable that connects to the harness with a "weatherpack" connector. Please excuse the dust, I'm lazy.

Pulled out a very heavy f150. I'm really proud of this truck and it's capabilities.

Got the new u joints in. Feels smoother on acceleration and I’m sure they were due for a change (65k miles, assuming they were changed when I bought truck used. If not, 123k miles on em).

bad news is the vibes are still here. Pretty sure it’s the cvs and tires. Ugh. At least I can say I’ve done u joints

side note: when the propane heater started dying out in the garage I wondered why it seemed so cold. Turns out it’s 5 degrees with a real feel of -4 lol

Maybe road force wheel balancing? I had a set of Mickey Thompson Baja Atzp3s that never would balance out right. Had to have them road force balanced. Made a big difference, but kinda spendy!

Same. I've got some General Grabbers that won't balance without a ton of wheel weights. Had the same wobble until I had a road force balance. They pointed out the tire that was the worst of the bunch, and that became my full time spare. Unfortunately frequent offroading causes me to lose wheel weights and have to start all over. Sucks because otherwise they have been great tires.

I'm sure anything is better than nothing. I read on here somewhere that the Ford Fluid XG-8 PTFE was the hot ticket. That's what I used and it stopped the clicking sounds on sharp turns at my Starbucks drive thru.

When I opened my yolk up it was dry and slightly rusty. I feel it's worth the time and money if you've already got the driveshaft out. Obviously it probably won't fix your vibration as you're already buttoned up and still have the vibes though.
