Asked my tune guy to disable it when he put OTT in the truck, I wear my seatbelt most of the time but passengers don't always, now it'll beep a couple times when you first turn the truck over but silent rest of the time.

I also increased the blinker to five flashes when you tap the blinker, and corrected the alternator output for my AGM battery.

Music at level 50. I recommend Shotgun Messiah.

Technically the chime will still be going, but you won’t notice.

The number of blinker flashes is in the user settings some where. Didn't realize tuners can mess with the seatbelt chime. Plan on getting it done soon, I'll ask the guy about it.

Well that sounded promising. I dug into my manual, which feels like a print version of the Labyrinth in Greek mythology, and found that there are settings that can be changed with the multimedia system, others that can be changed with the multi-information display, and those that can be changed by the dealer. Turns out the seat belt alarm needs the dealer.

But, Lordie! There's a whole lot of stuff on this truck that I never woulda thought would be on any vehicle short of a a space capsule. And navigating through the manual to find it!! Whoooeee!

My first car was a VW bug. It didn't even have a gas gauge. There was like a handle up front down around your feet, that stuck out just over to the side of the gas pedal, which stuck up straight, and you tipped it over sideways when you were running low. That was connected to the fuel intake tube in the gas tank, and in there the intake tube, which stuck up in the gas and was now starting to suck air, well, the end of it now was down in the several inches of gas left, and would get you another 30 miles or so. Fill 'er up and turn the handle by your foot back up straight and off you go.

Low tech as low as you get.

I've messed with the settings a fair amount and never saw that or I would have changed it long ago. I'll have to look again.

Yeah they've figured a lot of stuff out in the last couple years. And the OTT seriously did wonders for gear hunting, which was a huge gripe of mine because where I spend most of the year is tons of steep grades at highway speed. Zero complaints now

Same here. Kinda funny they can only change those random things, must be an ecu thing.

I don't know how all that stuff works, but I got the things I really cared about fixed so I'm a happy camper. Haha

Here's a photo of the setting "Seat belt reminder" in the owners manual, under Customization. The marking of a dash or a circle means not available or available. So that's where I got my info that I would have to go to the dealer. The other 2 ways of doing it are marked with the dash

I didn't check manual for that because I knew it couldn't be deactivated by the user from many threads on here, and I'm not paying the dealer shit to do it when my tuner can handle that.

I'm looking through the manual now and there's nothing about the blinkers in here. If it was a user adjustable thing why would tuners have to include that as something they flash to the ecu?

They use Techstream, not OV/VF tune. There's threads on here on how to get it. I think there is also a subscription based OBD code reader app that you can use.

Okay, but that's not in the user settings of the vehicle like he's saying. Haha.

what do you mean by "blinkers"? I would guess you mean the little red icon that blinks in time with the ding of the bell.

The picture in my manual that I just posted shows the setting for Seat Belt Reminder Buzzer. That's what I am wanting to disable.

And what is meant by "tuner"???

I purchased the Carista OBD2 for $30 and you can turn off the seat belt buzzer, and adjust a bunch of other settings with the truck. It works for a variety of vehicles and just connects to your phone. Super easy to use.

I must be drunk because I truly believe I stumbled across that setting once and changed it to 5 blinks but changed it back; but I just tried to find it and failed.

Another vote for the TW member's chime silencer plugin thingies. I think they were like $7 shipped to me, or something crazy. My hunting buddy in his 70s reaches for them first thing when he gets in my truck when we are slow rolling on FS roads.

I called the salesman to see what it would cost to do it for me, and .... he didn't know. Said no one had ever asked him. It was Saturday so the service dept was gone, and he will call me tomorrow. I sure hope it's for free, like I've seen here in posts. It cant take much time.

Guess I'll have to keep listening to ding ding ding for awhile
