Anybody have any idea how many Tacomas a plant can build in a day? Trying to get an idea of how many trucks will have to be “inspected”. Right now we have trucks as early as 1/23 and as late as 2/9 that are on hold and it may include trucks earlier or later than that.

I'd imagine the only hold up is parts availability.

Anybody had any luck getting a timeline for the hold from their dealership? Mine hasn’t been able to tell me anything. I believe they are being truthful with me. I believe Toyota really does keep them in the dark about this too. I’m not even that upset about the delay, I was expecting delays. It’s just frustrating to not know if this delay will last for a week or for six months.

Uh-oh. That’s a 1/6 build date on hold. This batch might go back pretty far then…

Don't get me started on the Toyota app.

Your truck was/is on UP801078. It may have arrived in NJ. Without knowing the actual rail facility it is going to, I can't do much with the CSX (Doremus is not available on my facility list). But it looks like it arrived yesterday (based on the railcar number traced on the UPRR site and the car status showing empty).

Also, the rail car number is odd. The prefixes are usually 4 letters (???x) with the last letter being an X.

This many trucks over this large of a build period from 1/6 -2/9 now as we see here this has to be a supply chain waiting for parts situation because the 1/6 build would most likely have arrived by now. Like they are just building them and then parking them till the final piece shows up

I was in the freight industry for 10 years but been out of the game for a few so no more logins anymore, can check and see if this kept moving? I am assuming once it made it on the rail they kept moving it and will be checking it once it arrives at a destination.

Thanks a ton!! I figured as much I knew it would come into KC (where I am) and I know they don't stop rail freight once moving. Now I wait for the "quality check" and hold to be done.

Seems like a possibility. My dealer said if it’s a recall or service campaign situation that Toyota is required to tell them. They say Toyota hasn’t said it’s either of those and Toyota keeps all other information about holds internal and doesn’t share with the dealer.

It is strange though that the trucks on hold did seem to complete “processing” and get shipped out. Mine for example was built and loaded on rail on 1/31. It arrived by rail to the Toyota logistics center in Princeton, IN on 2/23. And it didn’t go on hold status until 2/17. Maybe they go ahead and ship them and then hold them at the logistics centers and put missing parts on there?
