    So just picked up my truck about 3 weeks ago and got around to putting my deck in yesterday and used the metra kit and I dont know if this is normal but this has to be the ugliest I have seen my deck out of 2 different cars its been in.

    1. Nice big gap on the sides where you can see the HU
    2. Alighnment is horrible seems to sit tilted to the left
    3. Head unit sticks way the f*** out
    4. Hazard button sticks

    who makes this garbage!!!!!!!! :mad::mad::mad:

    here are some pics and they do no justice. maybe I screwed something up in the install process sooooo PLEASE correct me if I did.

    I never had much luck with Metra, I always buy Scosche. Dont know if it's just me but their parts always seem to fit better.

    Not yet, I am in the process of ordering everything for my '06. Everything is on the way except fo the HU. I cant decide on which to buy. My comment was mentioned because I have installed some units in other cars and the Metra parts just were not the quality the Scosche is, just my opinion.

    crap bolted and welded together....
    sometimes with the metra kits you have to do a little fine tuning. With mine i had to sand a little around the hazard button so it wouldn't stick. Also around the backside of the whole kit to have it sit flush. Try just sanding it and im sure it will help A LOT.

    I too bought the Metra kit, and I too was very unhappy with the fit. Mine actually angled to the right, and the hazard button fit was perfect, but the thing is ugly and didnt fit right.

    I decided it was woth 25 bucks to try the Scosche, and am very happy I did so. looks and fits much much better.

    I have the exact same problems with my metra kit, except for the tilt. I have found that if you pull the bottom corner away from the dash, the button will function. I'll have to give Scosche a try.

    Thats why i always go with scosche, not saying metra is bad, but IMO scosche's fit and finish seems better

    I got the metra kit and use it with my double din Pioneer but I had to do some trimming around the hazard button to get it to not stick too. I probably should have tried the Scosche but never got around to it.
