It was totally called for. OP asked for help stealing another persons work and livelihood. And then wonders why he got negative responses. It appears you can't comprehend any more than the OP. This is one of those threads that I will welcome a lock / deletion of.

Whoa whoa whoa settle down there bud. I’m not the one that wants or needs one. I’m farrrrr from lazy I love DIY stuff. I was just defending the OP dude. Everyone was calling him a lazy POS without even knowing who that person really is lol. People assume wayyyyy too much.

He said he’s only getting measurements which isn’t stealing. Do you not understand that? If he were to copy it exactly then that would be stealing. Have you ever looked at something and thought to yourself “I’d like to make something about the same size as that?” Then you’d use it as a reference. That’s not stealing.

If he’s only getting measurements, why not just get them off the truck?

Yeah, and the Russians were "only getting measurements" when they went to design their space shuttle. Give me a break!

I wish there was a forum equivalent of IRC's old /kickban. Stealing someone's hard work, IP, stocking, shipping, doing a return and now restocking? Fucking buy a tape measure. How about YOU do that and provide us all the .DXF from your own work?

I would call him a thieving piece of shit to his face, being on a computer posting changes nothing. Asking for a file or measurements to use is perfectly fine. Saying you will buy a product, measure it and then send it back is being a piece of shit.
