    Hey all,

Just installed those new Toyota factory LED headlights and they are amazing. But I ran into a small problem. The day time running lights don't turn on when stalk is set to auto. However, the headlights and DRL will turn on when I twist the stalk to turn on the headlights. Brights and turn signal works fine too. At night the headlights will turn on when the stalk is at auto. I checked all the fuses and none are blown. I read that some interior dome lights can mess with DLRs? But they are are stock and all are working. What should else should check for? thanks

This ^^^. I’m betting the headlights won’t work with the harness you have. Do you know what model truck the headlights were available to be put on?

Probably the parking brake. Turn on ignition in auto w ambient light. Release parking brake. DRL should come on.

parking lights are different, they have the bottom lights and sidemarker illuminated and are dimmer than DRL which is just the C portion.

I just want to make sure I understand...

When you say the "drl don't turn on when the stalk is set to auto" - you do mean the c-shaped LED part, correct? Because I think those are the entirety of our DRL (the big c-shaped LED surround part).

Does it have to be in Drive? Some vehicles turn off DLRs when in park.

Okay finally had a chance to check things over with the truck. Checking the headunit, DRL were indeed set to off. Thank you @Tacospike I thought these were always to set on by default. I never really noticed it when I had my old halogen setup. So anyhow I changed it to ON. While still on my driveway I set the stock on auto, took parking brake off, and put the truck in drive. DRL still not turning on. Someone told me you have to drive at least above 15 or so for the DRL to activate? Maybe that's true on other models or makes? Or do they turn on instantly after the parking brake is released? I am willing to try other suggestions. Maybe the harness I have is no good?

This is the harness I am currently using

My 2017 Limited has "DRL Off" switch position on the stalk. I guess you're aware of this and yours is ON?

Probe the blue wire on the harness. If it’s 12v you have a light problem. If it’s 0 you have a truck problem.

I am guessing it didn’t looking at that adapter. Here are a few things to note:
Your DRL will come on if the parking breaks is not on AND the sensor (located in the passengers side dash by the speaker) is in the light. It doesn’t have to be in drive or anything, just no e-brake and sunlight.
Check the actual DRL fuse? It is in the fuse box under the hood I think (I have an SR, so I’ve never had to look for it, so take the location for what it’s worth).

Cool, I am not too up to speed on the limited. Seem like a mix of TRD and SR5 + more chrome?
