This is very tempting. My tabs are already welded back on as I bent/sheared them but would like a stronger solution.

Hi @ForestRunnerFrank99 a few months ago I installed a Marlin Crawler gusset kit to correct a badly bent LCA frame mount and sheared cam gussets.

I see you mentioned that your cams would not fit with an existing installed MC kit, do you have any info on what mods would be needed to make them fit?

Looking to get a set asap to stop my damn cams to keep moving.

Thanks for all the good info!

What’s the torque for the nuts? 100ft lbs like 3rd Gen 4WD OEM?

Hi guys sorry for the late reply! I've been busy shipping things out haha.
So it's really easy to do when the MC kit is off the truck, you only need to notch this section to fit the corner of the octagon:
    marlin_cralwer_lca_cam_tab_frame_brace_01-768x512.jpg

If its on the truck it might be a little more difficult to do so, but the same notch needs to be performed.

We've installed our kit with the MC kit at the same time and it all worked great. If you're going to run our cam tabs for even more beef it will require some more clearancing on the MC kit to fit the wider cam tabs.

I believe on the 5th gen 4runner it's something like 130ft-lb and 3rd gen taco is like 100ft-lb. Anything in that range should be fine but I'd double check the factory spec. The bolts we provide are rated much higher than the OEM ones so you won't damage anything if you're over haha.

Thanks, I thought that might be the case.

Now to hope that it’s not the bushing thats seized on the bolt… but it really felt that way, really tough to loosen and tighten that bolt :annoyed:

Ouch yeah if it seized you're gonna be in for a good time! When that happens with us we cut them out with a Sawzall or a grinder and replace the bushings.
Good news: you get new bushings
Bad news: you need to replace your bushings

Yup, it’s going to be fun. I can get the bolt to turn but it is a struggle. I have to use a breaker bar for the cam nut since a tab is bent and the force it takes to turn the bolt.
I’m hoping once I can get the nut clear of the tabs I can just loosen that then beat the bolt out… we’ll see…
I’m pretty positive it’s not rust as I’ve messed with those a lot, swapping spings and getting alignments. After the last alignment, 2 weeks ago) and a really bad pot hole, the bolt would not turn without excessive force.

After an initial test drive truck is back to riding normal, besides needing an alignment. I got around to installing the octo-cam tab plates and bolts from @ForestRunnerFrank99. The threads one the one oem bolt were fubared which was causing the lca to shift going over any bumps. I tried to not drive much with it like that.
The replacement was really easy. The passenger side I disconnected and let the lca drop to have more room, the fd bolt was the passenger front. I also had to bend a few tabs back. Drivers side I didn’t drop but I made sure to take pressure off the lca bolts with the jack. The rusted sleeve was the drivers front.

Super nice!! I've never seen the factory threads strip like that. That thing is like a Grade 12.9 bolt.
Looking at it we might need to start cutting that 5/8" bolt down a little. We use a longer bolt to make sure the shank is the correct size but in turn that means there are extra threads lol.
