I'm trying to swap A 96' 4 wheel drive 3400 straightline six with a 99' 2 wheel drive 3400 straight line six. I Cannot get the key to work in the Ignition Jumped off the relay to make sure the engine was turning over and it is. It is not cranking though The driver's side windows come down and will not go backup And the witch of wipers are acting bizarre I have several plugs that are of course are not matching up. The wiring harness is from the 96 The only lights that turn on when you put the key in the Ignition and turn it over is the air bag which keeps flashing and the Break light but The parking break is on It is not throwing any codes and I'm at a loss on Where to start looking I thought I'd been the anti theft Activating because of a different engine , ECU is from the 99. Is it like Volkswagen will I have to marry The new Parts

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
I have never seen A Toyota engine that is a straight six cylinder engine. just what country did your Toyota come from or you reside in??

A engine harness needs to be matched with the ECM/ECU it is made for.

Yes the parts need to be married to make a happy couple. Not ever seeing a inline six I have no idea where to even look for the wiring schematics to make a happy marriage .

The fact anything at all works in amazing.
