The previous owner painted all the fairings in truck bed liner so forged carbon stuff is coming to replace that abortion. Also found a billet front sprocket and asked if they make one a tooth smaller. And! Have a local company seeing if they can mill an aluminum rear sprocket out of aluminum and coat it with Teflon. I’m not giving up on the little xb.

I saw dude doing chain conversions and using the plastic tensioner pulley. Because that seems safe.

I think if I ever got to chain conversion territory the bike wouldn’t make sense to me anymore. I kind of only wanted it for its engineering and belt drive.

I always liked how the one direction had two lanes I could use to ride my line.

Amazing, the damage a motorcycle boot does to fiberglass.

Our group was usually about 6-10 bikes. One day on a ride we Crossed another group out of Romney which double our group, so we had a 30ish sized group that day. The guy leading their group was 65 and had just bought a new zx6r…. I had just bought and was riding the exact same bike. After some chatting and riding I asked him: “ how do you make this bike so fast?” I had been chasing him since we met and had been getting frustrated because this was my 3rd zx6r and least favorite because it was to suple. It was smooth to a fault. It never had an rpm where power “hit” it just went increasing faster as you turned the throttle. This sounds like a dumb statement, but having ridin every 600 from the big four leading up to the this bike, it was different to say the least. David looked at me very quickly as if my question didn’t deserve a response and said
    “ I didn’t touch my brakes”.
He made that statement so quickly and was ready to move on to other conversations because he knew there were no words that could answer my question.

He felt confident on that bike and I did not on mine.

nothing he could say would make me a better rider that day or make me able to keep up with him, and he was experienced enough to know that. He lost a lot on motorcycles. His oldest son. Several friends. But when I when I would call on the phone to ride it was:
Chris: “ hey this is Chris, I ran into David a while back, you up for a ride?
David’s wife: “ you ran into David!!!! Is he ok!!???”
    Chris: pause
David’s wife: “ you ain’t to bright are ya? When and where?”

That is so cool, makes me want to get a crotch rocket but knowing me I'd push my limit and kill myself. Sure looks fun though!

@Mojo Jojo Makian are you joining us for the Spring Fling? If so, I'll be sure to pack the chainsaw stuff (if you still want it).

I think to enter they have to be road worthy. Everything is trailered in, but they have to be able to drive down the road. It's a fun show to walk around. The Auto Show (NAIAS) is fun as well. And now it's held in the summer instead of the cold winter. A lot of debuts happen at that show.
