Right!? Had me wondering what was happening.
This is a pretty positive update though. California is in the process of having to defend their laws using history and context and have been given a deadline. The outlook for the State of CA(their dictator)(not 2A) is not good. The judge in California seems to be leaning toward ruining for the second amendment. That win would play heavy in Oregon and Washington.

Finished my space cowboy gun and took it out over the weekend! Super pleased with my 114 panic purchase. This thing is so much fun! Now it just needs a can.

 

Just picked up an AR-10 and a nice piece of glass, now I'm going to be that guy and ask does anyone know of a place to shoot 100-300 yards within a 2-3 hour drive of Seattle? I'll be more specific, I don't need to know anyone's favorite secret shooting spots on the west side, more wondering about spots over the pass (Durr road? Near Vantage?) that might have that kind of range.

 

Anyone on here with a class 3 FFL?
or know someone in Seattle area that you could recommend.
Looking to do a private SBR transfer and need to have FFL hold on to it while it clears the form 4

 

That is not how it works......

If you are selling the SBR, you and the buyer (or seller) fill out the form 4, and the current registrant holds it until the Form 4 clears. There is no "legal" way for an FFL/SOT to "hold" it in the mean time. You could Form4 it to the FFL, then the FFL Form4's it to the new owner, but that doubles the time it takes, and doubles the tax stamps.....

 

Ive been talking to ATF for last month trying to figure it out and what they narrowed it down to was that current owner needs to transfer it to an FFL and then transfer it to me. yes filing 2 form 4 and doubling the tax stamp. I have tired to file the form 4 but it wont let me finish it would having an FFL attached to my account. I've call ATF several times and they said it wasn't possible without an FFL.
Anyhow we decided to go a different route. We will remove it from the registry, attached a fake can to make it over 16'' and do a regular transfer. Once Ill have it ill file a form 1 and SBR it again.

 

Sounds like you are trying to use eForms. eForm 4 is restricted to just FFL/SOT holders. eForm 1 is available to all, non-licensee and licensee both. You would have to file a paper form 4 (i.e. the old fashioned way) to get the application submitted.

Your second option (reconfigure to non-NFA item, remove from registry, file Form 1 after the usual transfer) is another good avenue. At least that way, you have the firearm for use in the meantime (in a non-NFA configuration), and given recent developments in Olympia, probably the safer way to go.....

 

Second option is the only option I see that's reasonable. waiting for over a year for the paper files while someone else has the sbr and your money doesn't feel right.
plus with the 10 day wait and average 60 day eform 1 times Ill have this thing back to sbr in no time.

I'd appreciate it! I've shot over that way once, at a spot the DNR called out on their site, but it was very close-in pit style.
