I noticed one of the tabs on the nut portion was bent over. So looks like I’ll need to do something about that now. Not sure if it was me or Firestone that did that one.

I loosened the bolt up some and it was pain, fought me the entire time. Got to we’re i could see threads between the rear cam and sprayed pb blaster there too.
Tightened it back down, also a fight. Now I’ll look into new cam kits.
Anyone have a recommendation?

Looking at cam tabs replacement or bolts and adjusters? I had to cut the bolts to replace the LCA.

 

Yes…

i can still tighten and loosen the one bolt but it’s not easy and I may have needed the jack to help. I’m pretty sure I can get the bolt out but I’m not sure what part is the issue. It could be the tab on the nut/adjustment side is bent but even holding it with a socket/breaker bar, it’s still really tough to move.
I’m thinking about the kit that has new everything, including the tabs.

I need to add that thinking more, I think that LCA cam tab bent and probably is damaged while driving.

I forgot that yesterday morning I hit a really bad pot hole that ended up making me swerve in the road, it was that bad.

 

It felt worse than it looks in the video but I think this is what bent the cam tab and tweaked something in there -

‘Looks like you got the cam tab situation under control. Total Chaos and Dirt King also have cam tab kits. I had to cut the adjuster(s) out. Replaced with Toyota adjusters.

I had the same idea about bed camping when I first got the Taco. I took off the cap and mounted the bed rails and the RTT and tried that and thought that it would work better then bed camping, so the cap got sold. After using the RTT a few times I built a sleeping platform for the back of the 4runner and was much more comfortable, so the RTT got sold for multiple reasons.

I saw an ad in here for a nice condition soft topper for my Taco, but I'm torn about spending money right now.

I'm sure that you already know this, but just in case- be sure that the restaurant guy has an AC or DC, the caps are shaped differently for a reg cab.

 

Pot holes are stupid.

 

They sure are and now I gotta decide what to do to fix it.

I gotta try and bend the tabs back, and stop driving a lot. I’m planning on marking the one cam then drive around and see if it moves at all. I’m pretty sure trying to get an alignment and ignoring it will not work. If I knew that nut had not come off the bolt I’d swear it was cross threaded but how tough it was to loosen/tighten.

I cant figure out this gas thing....on Saturday, drove by the local RoFo in FInksburg on the way to plane spot at BWI with my kid...gas was $3.01..after a couple of cold hours at the park at BWI, swung past the same RoFo, gas was $2.97...

Am I to assume they had a gas delivery in the short time we were gone? I guess it is possible, but didnt seem reasonable to me..

i assume the price is automatically linked to the commodity market. Doubt anybody manually calculated that they just received 15,007 gal multi by the price they paid, added overhead and adjusted the price accordingly.
