Was hoping my valve shims wouldn’t need much adjustment. Nah. They’re all at the high end or low end of spec. One exhaust was completely out of spec.

Can’t imagine how bad my flatbed is with more than twice the miles.

The 5VZs get just as out of whack, they just don't have as weak of a head casting so the head cracking isn't usually a problem

Suntour XCM HLO, 120mm travel. I don't know what the spring rate is. Suntour offers firmer/softer options for most forks but not mine :homer:

Does yours have the spoiler on the rear hatch? Mike's was the first one I've noticed that it's absent. Doesn't have the mounting holes either. Always thought it was standard.

Those are dealer installed actually, along with the roof rack and running boards. They choose whether or not to put the hole in (rivnuts).

Yeah mine has it, I thought they all came that way didn't realize it was dealer installed. Almost every one I see has them

Really? It's almost too common for me to believe that dealers were doing that.
Yeah a quick browse shows that more than 90% of 3rd gens came with them. I am questioning Zane's validity here. Doesn't happen often.

Yeah, might actually be port installed but either way they didn't come from the factory in Japan with them and they're installed subpar to the rest of the equipment. Same thing happened with Land Cruisers it's why they always have rust issues around the spoilers and roof racks. They do have Toyota parts numbers but the trucks weren't designed for the parts, the parts were designed for the trucks, you get what I mean?

saw a guy yesterday that thought his 2wd 5th gen 4Runner was a snowmobile, dude had no business being on the trail he was on and got stuck real bad. Created a huge mess of a traffic jam on the trail. We just turned around at that point, I figured beyond that there were likely more idiots ahead

My favorite is chains on front tires of a rear wheel drive car.
This guy had 50 blocked for a few the other day. (Not the best picture)

Wife just texted me that Dex caught a parrot in the backyard and won't let it go

there are a ton of parrots in our neighborhood, decades ago someone released a bunch and they basically took over. They're annoying AF in the mornings lol.

Told her she should just let him do his thing and not watch, no way that bird is gonna survive a Husky playing with it

I'm just surprised there are parrots there, but yeah Husky isn't gonna relent on that prety drive easily. Still not sure I'd want him swallowing bones.
