Those stories are great. Original oil filter, lol. I had a brother-in-law back in the day who blew up his Oldsmobile because he never changed the oil. It took about 2 days to drain out, and solidified like clay when it was done!

One of the first customers I ever had at my current job and still one of my favorites was a lady with a Prius that was more than 20,000 mi overdue for an oil change. I brought this to her attention and she told me it's a Prius. It doesn't need oil. Good luck ma'am.

 

I had a dune buggy years ago with an air cooled vw motor. Stopped at a friend’s house one day and his dad came out to check it out. Points to the dipstick and says what’s that for? I said it’s to check the oil. He says but it’s air cooled right? When I said yes his reply was if it’s air cooled then why does it need oil. Thought he was joking but realized he was being serious.

 

My wife had a friend who got a Porche in a divorce. She never changed the oil because the little red teapot light came on, then went off like it was supposed to do and it didn't come back on -- until it did.
