Got some more pieces to the puzzle today

I'm kicking myself for not throwing a larger diameter exhaust on when I had it all rebuild last year. Buy twice cry twice.

On another note there's a slight hitch in the plan. Looks like I'll be down for a few days. I went to the ER last night with a fever of 103.88° and sure enough i got the Covid

I saw some 3 way solenoids that looked pretty fancy. I think this should be plenty for now while I am just learning

I got a quick peek @Murphinator 's haltech and damn I loved all the data that provides in one place, definitely a dream setup

I looked into the AEM FIC 6 a little bit too, who knows what will happen later on down the road.

I think with how drastic the temperature and elevation changes around here it would definitely be beneficial to have something other than a stock ECU

regearing will probably happen first

I still need to grab a 170° Thermostat.
so glad I put a new thermostat in last year. Now I'll have 3 spares

 

I went with one of his kits on my truck and my old IS300, good shit. Too bad he didn't have a 170° thermo for you. I wasn't gonna swap my thermostat just yet, I don't think I'll need to

 

I might not "need" to but if it's going to be better in the long run I might as well do it while the system is open and not have to revisit it for a while

That's with a rig on 39's and 5.29 gears so would rip even harder with less rotational mass to spin up

 

As long as the turbo sounds better than the song playing in the background we should be golden.

Im doing the same thing at the same time. Got the 32mm dual port last week.

 

A few more pieces to the puzzle came today from Silicone Intake solutions

3ft of 10AN SS line + fittings
5ft of 4AN SS line + fittings
Also grabbed 4ft of 1" reinforced Silicone heater hose and connectors for the BOV recirculation

I should have taken better pictures but that'll do for now.

I ordered a couple extra fitting just to make sure I have what I need. I also probably should have got some measurements before buying the SS lines for the oil feed and return but hopefully ill have enough.

At least you noticed before hand. I'd still run it. Are you going to keep it shiny or paint it black? I'm contemplating painting mine so it's not so flashy behind the grill

 

Will probably hook the shop vac to it. Definitely dont want the new turbo eating that shit.

I have some air dry cerakote that I may or may not use. We will see. Its black so not sure.

 

what is the specs on that turbo? I too have caught the boost bug and in the beginnings down the rabbit hole! Just need to decide whether to due the 97 or 03

 

Yeah it be a pretty deep rabbit hole.


This one is a GT35 from CX. It has ball bearing so it's dual cooled. T4 exhaust flange and a .68ar

I'd say throw a turbo in both or just the one that has the most space under the hood

 

Yea I have thought about both as well, both are 3.4, but the 97 has 370k vs my 03 dbl cab which only has 160k. Realistically it will go into the 03 as it is my daily/mtn vehicle that I need a bit more oomph in. When are you planning to start installing your set up? from the looks of it your are pretty close to go time!
