Neighbors are a great way to get rid of random clutter. Just leave it on their porch, patio, garage,… wherever. When they ask, just say I thought you said you wanted one of those… or I thought your wife asked for it.

Welp. Deleted my SAIS system last night with the Hewitt Kit and turns out you gotta shell out an additional $450 to remove the valves completely. Had no idea. Should've bought an HP Tuner and just removed it from the ECU for the same price. Live and learn I guess.... For now I'm gonna have to rebolt in the valves and hook them into the Hewitt kit to get my truck out of limp mode...

Hope your weekend went better and your Monday too! God Bless you all!

Had some free time the other day to play around with the rendering function of the CAD program I use. This was my very first knife design. I haven’t prototyped it yet, hoping to do that in the next few weeks.

2012-2015 California bs on the tacoma. It stands for Secondary Air Injection system. It pushes a small amount of air into the exhaust via two valves to help 'burn off exhaust gases in the exhaust for lower emissions'.

Is that the round piece on the left side of the engine bay and what's the benefit of removing it?

The round piece is the aur pump. It sends air to the air injection valves that direct it to the exhaust.

If you remove it, the truck goes into limp mode.

There are systems that allow you to bypass the AIP and fool your truck into thinking everything is fine.

I have the homemade version on my tundra, wich uses the same technology.

I know there were some issues with the cheesy OEM filter on that pump, and I replaced mine with an aftermarket filter a couple of years before Toyota issued the recall. But what is the benefit of deleting it? Is it supposed to improve fuel mileage or increase power?

The benefit of not having it is to keep your truck from going into limp mode if it fails.

The earlier 2nd gen Tacomas and Tundras were quite prone.

If a pump or valve failed, you are now in limp mode. Resetting the computer by disconnecting the battery works as a temp fix, but it's not permanent.

I have failed valve. The bypass tells the computer that the truck engine is warm, so injecting air is not called for. The pumps are only used for cold startups. My truck thinks it's engine is warm so the computer never tells the pumps to turn on.

The valves only cycle when there is proof the pumps are running.

Because there is never a call for the pumps to come on, there is never a call for the valves to cycle.

I have 150k miles on the truck with my system. There has never been any drivability issues no matter how cold or warm it is.

This is the file that I used to make my system. It may ask you to have me give you access.

I get about 4-6 request a week for the file.

What Koditten said. Mine was throwing errors on the really cold days and so I figured I'd toss it all before it went south. Plus it opens up the engine bay with enough real estate I can hard mount my compressor under the hood.

Thanks for that. I haven't read it all yet, but I take it that the process is the same for the Tacoma as it is for the Tundra?

Fargo- not much detail here but wanted to point out that I want a vaulted ceiling above the wood stove in both cabins. The other 3 blocks upstairs can be bedrooms and the entire 1st floor open. The 20x20 cabin will potentially be dry(no plumbing)...but may add later. 20230227_135507.jpg

20230227_140904.jpg Fargo-The 30x30 main cabin has a few more features. I want the same basic open 1st floor with the exception of a ½ bath, pantry and basement access(was hoping to put this under the stairs that lead to 2nd floor) but am totally open to any ideas. 2nd floor id like a full bath stacked above the ½ bath on first floor. Id like one room to be slightly bigger than the rest(master bed) and 2 other rooms(den and spare bed).

Fargo- I tried to pm these to u but cant seem to figure it out? Lol. Anyway im open to any ideas u have for lay out.
The drawings i posted, the "front" is facing south. I forgot to add that the 30x30 will have a porch all the way around, 10ft wide. The east and west sides of this porch will be enclosed and insulated.

Plated off the ASVs and slapped them back in and hooked them up to the hewitt harness. Works. Not quite the full delete I was hoping for but it'll do.

i'm pretty well covered on audio gear. it started as an innocent hobby in the 90's when everyone was throwing away their large floor standing speakers. when everyone was giving them away for free, it was hard to pass up. that was back before i could legally drive, so i had a hand truck rigged up to the back of my bike to get all of them home. there's a picture for you :)

i'm running out of space that i'm willing to commit to the cause so getting pickier for only the stuff that really jumps out at me for one reason or another. nothing i've got is pricey, rare, or collectible to most, just unique in one way or another--either unique from the manufacturer in construction, or many have been built/altered, or just get a spot simply because i brought them back from the dead.

every one of them in the picture has got a story, some more dull than others.
