I thought the same thing until I tried them again. Come to find out, they have bred out much of the overly bitter taste. It’s actually pretty fascinating if you read up on it. Maybe worth another shot?

finally got around to this. giving it a 50/50 chance of turning out OK. I got the dough rolled out just fine but as soon and i had it all rolled up the dough started to crack and the blueberry stuff started to ooze out. I didn't get to the 'twist the two halves together' part so its just a log of dough with blueberry and cream cheese in the middle. I had to build some retaining walls out of foil to keep it from splitting further.

maybe not the best recipe for GF flour. also a little too messy with blueberry goo spilling everywhere.

The retaining walls did not hold! It does smell good, looks nothing like the picture on the cooking site though

I had the exact same thought.

Stains fade, blueberry goo is forever.

I’d eat that all day (with intermittent naps)!

It's tastes like a giant glutino breakfast bar. The pastry isn't the texture I was hoping for.
    Giving it 2/5 stars

I read somewhere that gluten free folks can eat sourdough bread. Is this true?

    (Yumm blueberries...)

Nope. Already deleted the recipe from my Pinterest. Just not a GF friendly recipe me thinks.
    No
The blueberry and cream cheese are a nice mix. Just wish the pastry part turned out more like the original photo

    Short answer: no.

Certain sourdoughs have less gluten in them, but it’s still there. I have gluten intolerant friends that eat it on occasion with little to no reaction, however, increased exposure will cause an increase in symptoms. Celiacs can’t eat any gluten whatsoever, regardless of symptoms being present. It causes intestinal cancer and is considered an autoimmune disease.

There are gluten free sourdoughs on the market, albeit more like regular bread than a sourdough.

We try to find low or no sodium options for this very reason. Sometimes it’s unavoidable, but DID YOU MAKE POT ROAST?!:hungry:
