What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Got the temperature read-out installed and deleted the AC jump seats and rear console this past weekend.

The pup-platform is halfway completed so the pics (if I remember to take any) will come once it's complete. I'm still working out the hatch covers, etc.

 

Where'd you put the inside and outside sensors? I'm going to install mine this afternoon.

 

Since I had seen other members with concerns about readings being impacted by engine heat, I placed the exterior probe near the left, front fog light as a test. I saw that it does get (A LOT!) of ambient heat once it's been parked so I think I will move it to run as far back towards the bed as possible. Hopefully it can be inserted into an existing loom but if not, I have some extra loom for protection.

The interior seems to be fine tucked behind the wiring inside the lower, left access panel. I have an indoor/outdoor el-cheapo thermometer that has agreed with the interior temperature so far. We have experienced temps ranging from 35 to 80 degrees since Sunday afternoon and it's been in agreement so far. It will probably stay where it is.

Changed the oil…. Anyone ever seen the oil cap and filler tube looks like this? Oil itself smelled and looked fine but this yellow stuff was just… weird and I’ve never seen it before…

 

A little sludge can happen, it's just condensate from moisture. That much, it might be time to change your cap.

 

Your grandpa is correct. Not biased about it at all either....

 

When I used to do a bunch of shorter trips (with out my truck getting fully warmed up) that used to happen. I can't explain why, but maybe that's your issue.

Bought a 2009 X-Runner with 37000 miles on it from original owner "my neighbor". Installed Diode Dynamics fogs last night, changed the oil and will install the short throw shifter this weekend.

Stopped and replaced my burnt out front turn signal/running light. Bulb was in bad shape but what you all think about the plug? I might need to replace sometime. The wires aren't showing any signs of burning
