Tail gate insert

if you were to add Tail gate letter inserts what would you choose?

1. Black
2 Chrome
3. Patriotic (red,white,blue)
4. None at all.

since I’m getting a Barcelona Red SR5 someday soon. I’m leaning towards chrome along with a chrome exhaust tip. Little bling for my new Taco.

 

Don’t have to be stuck with just those, there’s plenty of people who make those in various color vinyl decals.

I went with two tone black with red border, matches the factory graphics.

That 2 tone looked pretty good.

Not chrome. Personal preference only though.

 

I resisted a strong urge to put stickers on my truck when it was brand new. Now I wonder why I even had the urge to do it.

Red if your truck is black

 

I'd go with black

 

Mine is Windchill Pearl truck, with a factory blackout package, so I went with the Toyota OEM matte black inserts. Would not do it any other way.
I read about too many problems with aftermarket letters. Metal ones rust over tome, and aftermarket vinyl fade very quickly.

If it were me, I would stick with Yota OEM chrome or black. If you like chrome, and truck comes with chrome badges, go with chrome to match.

 

have black in mine, but it is a magnetic grey metallic. but, if i would have had my bronze methods before i did that, i would probably have platidipped them to match.

 

Black goes well on offroad's with the additional black trim unless the truck is black.

The American flag ones always look like crap to me. There is a blue F150 down the street from me with them in the F-150 of the tailgate. From more than 10' feet away it just looks like it says F-1.

 

This. I had a 2021 Barcelona Red Metallic with chrome badges, so I went with chrome inserts. I now have a 2023 TRD Pro with black badges so I went with black inserts.

 

Left mine blank. If Toyota is too fu**ing cheap to put inserts in without charging extra, the hell with them. I think left alone looks better. But then again, I don't have a fake, non-fuctional hood scoop either.

 

I have magnetic gray truck with black tailgate insets. I would think complimentary or contrasting color works depending....as I saw a metallic blue Tacoma that had the patriotic one and all that was most visible was "COMA".

 

OEM black inserts with OEM chrome exhaust tip.

 

For me, it depends on the color of the truck and what color the other badges/trim pieces are...my Taco is Celestial Silver with black badging and black chrome exhaust tip, so the black TACOMA tailgate insert was the only way to go.
