So I am planning on getting a rtt for my double cab tacoma and had the idea of some urban stealth camping by sleeping in the cab. I do a lot roadtrips and sometimes I am to far or tired to get to the campground and wanted the flexibility of pulling into a parking lot and sleeping in the cab. I am curious if anyone has removed the passenger seat on a double cab and has a rear seat delete. If all else fails I know I can recline the passenger seat and sleep but had the idea of a removable platform I would install for road-trips. I am tall so that is the biggest issue but from the passenger footwell to the back it seems long enough if the chair was gone and I already plan on deleting the rear seats. Just brainstorming here and I'd love to know other opinions.

Good thought and certainly better than driving tired, but depending on the parking lot and the urban area you will probably have your sleep interrupted by a knock on your window. Hopefully it will be a gentle knock by a guy/gal with a badge and a maglite, because some alternatives could be a lot worse.

It's pre-installed. Try it out: Flip the headrest around and recline the seat. It was very comfortable on two occasions for me.

Yes I tried this and it's a great suggestion. I ordered the rear seat delete t and will be trying it again and seeing how far I can get the chair to recline without coming into contact with anything behind me

Good stuff. I didn't find the need to go completely horizontal to be comfortable, but everyone is different. I'm glad that it could work for you though. The nice part for me was that I didn't need to move the seat bottom position.
