    Thanks!

It makes summertime camping in the SE a lot more tolerable with AC. Plus it doubles as a race trailer for karting season too. We’re typically spending 12-15 weekends and 10k miles per year in it so it’s a worthy thing to have

Out of curiosity, what's the gross rating? 6k?

I could Google it, but where's the fun in that?

I’d assume in that ballpark. Tacomas are mid 5’s if I remember correctly

6300#, I think. So, even with the rest of the goodies, and my Midwest petite figure, I'm probably still ok.

    You're correct! Uhh, according to google. 2nd gen Taco GVWR= 5500#. 3RD gen = 5600.

Wow, I knew the 4Runners were beefier, but I didn't realize it was by that much. :muscleflexing:

This might be the first recorded case of someone receiving more inches than a man told them they were going to get. :bananadance::bananadance::bananadance::bananadance::bananadance:

Tacoma’s have always been a few hundred less than 4Runners but that’s a surprisingly big gap to me! Good for the 4Runner for sure. My third gen 4Runner had a gross of like 5400 or 5500 if I remember correctly too

It is a bigger gap than I expected. Maybe I missed something. :notsure:

They've gotten bigger and heavier since '02. Some people say they're too big now.

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
What a sh$tshow here! Between last Thurs and Sat, we probably got about a foot of snow here. Woke up to pouring rain this morning. Storm sewer drains were all covered in snow, water all over the roads. People plowing right into/through the standing water. I suspect some of the disabled cars were hydrolocked.

Interesting day at work. Drove past one of my regular pickups to see their docks with 3'+ water, glad they didn't call today. One of my deliveries had water all over the floor, maybe 1/2" in spots...they are a steel supplier. I guess their roof drains got plugged with all of the slush and the water was trying to find a new exit route. I can't imagine the loading on their roof. The supervisor wasn't even thinking of that, all he talked about was the water on the floor/dripping. One place told me that their drains sounded like a river much of the day.

By the time I got home, it had changed over to sleet and freezing rain. Strange winter, was supposed to be cold and dry.

As much as we joke about it, a fully boxed frame vs the Tacoma frame probably lends to the difference.

This is close to the ratio of various land cruisers. Our domestic T4R is based on the international Prado, so it checks out, at least in my simple mind.

    ...basically 4runners are kickass.

Edit: but I still love the Tacoma equally, if not more :drunk:

Speaking of the Prado, there's some buzz on the 4runner forum about the 6th gen 4runner actually getting smaller, and the Prado coming to fill the void. I guess we'll see in like 9 years when the 6th gen finally comes out.

24/25. Doubt it'll be much smaller.

But we are supposed to be getting the Prado, since the new Sequoia is now the flagship suv

I didn't watch the video, so I'm not sure what the guy said. It sounded like the goal was to complete more with the Wrangler and/or Bronco, which aren't much smaller, unless you're comparing the 2-door versions.

Either way, it was just some YouTube guy's prediction, so I have little faith in any of it. I'll wait for Toyota to release something before I get excited or disappointed.

No, just the biggest. The Landcruiser was more expensive, probably mostly because of the name.

Yeah, full size SUVs are insanely expensive. Apparently they are only for doctors and lawyers now.

Take it from a guy who gets Toyota info several months before the public.... :D

And the drivetrain, and the luxury, and the interior, and the amenities... But yeah the name too.

I mean kitted out It's still 20 grand less and it's more capable.

I highly doubt that Toyota will be sharing pictures and specs for the new 4Runner with dealership employees before they release them to the public. I wouldn't expect that information to be available to anyone who wasn't directly involved in product development and marketing.

Didn't the Sequoia also come with the 5.7? And available leather seats? And power everything?

Full-time four-wheel drive is cool, though.
